A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
We currently have 8 guides in our unit, most of whom moved up from 1[st] Cullybackey brownies unit and some girls were entirely new to our unit.
Over the course of the year, Guides have completed a range of badges. Girls have been focusing on completing interest badges from the new badge book. They have completed challenges from a variety of themes; for example, the friendship badge from the ‘Be Well’ theme, as well as the journalling badge which they have been working on with one of our young leaders. Some other badges they have been working towards include the thrifting badge from the ‘Take Action’ theme and interior design badge from ‘Skills for my future’ theme.
Girls enjoyed partaking in a range of baking related activities including making shortbread for their Ulster Scots badge and making pancakes for their pancake expert badge.
Several girls attended Breckenhill activity centred to celebrate 100 years of World Thinking Day, they took part in a range of activities including Bushcraft, orienteering etc.
Most recently, girls have spent several meetings completing the Women’s IFA Football Challenge.
Three girls will be awarded theme awards for ‘Know Myself’ and ‘Be Well’ themes which they have been working towards throughout the year.
