## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year**

Over the course of the year, Guides have had the chance to complete several badges: Reflect Stage 5, For Her Digital World, Communicate Stage 4, Free Being Me, Civil Engineering Badge, Girl Powered Nutrition (WAGGGS), Photography, Thinking Day Badge, Personal Brand, Influence Stage 3, Feel Good Stage 3, and Get Outside Challenge Badge. Those who completed the Lorne Walk & collected sponsorship also gained the Lorne Walk Badge.

We have worked with the CCP to help in the community, spreading bark, weeding, planting and litter picking. Maureen leads this initiative and has been very creative in planning and decorating the CCP window throughout Autumn & Winter. We were delighted to represent Guides at the CCP’s presentation of the Kings Award for Voluntary Service (equivalent to an MBE for voluntary groups).

We attended the Remembrance Day Parade and Cuningham Memorial Youth Service Parade. Our winter weekend in Dunluce was great fun and we look forward to summer camp next weekend.

We have also completed two grant funded projects on Mental Health funded by North Antrim Community Network and The Clear Project.

Mid & East Antrim Borough Council funded our Coronation Party last year and have funded some badges for us this year in an equipment grant.

We attended Stormont for UK Parliament week.

5 Guides attended ICE (International Community Experience), a 3 stage project which offers the opportunity for personal development through community action linked with international experiences.

We were delighted that 7 of our girls completed their Guide GOLD award and were presented with this at the County Recognition Event in the Ross Park Hotel in May. Congratulations Grace, Haylee, Holly L, Mollie, Naomi, Rebecca & Sophie.

Congratulations to Lucy & Sophie who are heading to Larkin Jamboree in England this summer and to Haylee & Mollie who are going to Our Chalet (Guiding World Centre) in Switzerland. All 4 girls have been selected to represent Girlguiding Ulster on these trips.

We are reliant on volunteers to run this full and exciting programme every year and I would like to thank all the volunteers who play a part in any way. Without volunteers none of this would be possible. It is much more than an hour and a half on a Wednesday night, with training, planning and administration. Thanks to our 2 Young Leaders who are fantastic and make time for guiding whilst bother studying for GCSE’s and A-levels. Both are working towards the YLDP (Young Leader Development Programme) and LDP (Leader Development Programme). Two Leaders in training are also completing the LDP programme.

We would like to thank the Cuningham Memorial Presbyterian Church for permitting us use of the halls free of charge. Our fundraising Craft Fair was a success, and we would like to thank parents and the local community for all their support.
