Achievements, Performance & Public Beneflt St Luke's Parish Church, Mullaglass normally meets each Sunday morning at 10am for worship. During the year we were able to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles111 and with the help of a grant from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council we were able to mark the occasion with a special Church Service and a celebratory lunch afterwards in the Church Hall. 190 years ago, In Ortober 1833, our church was officially dedicated to St. Luke the Evangelist. To mark this nd momentous occaslon, we held a special service on Sunday 22 October 2023. The service wa5 followed by a historical exhibitlon of the Church and the local Mullaglass area from 1833 to the present day which proved to be very i nterestl ng. Fund ralsing this year came in the form of a vinted afternoon tea, BBQ & quiz, antique fair and the Christmas wreaths making a grand total of £5,361.04 for Church funds. We also raised £440 for CMS at our big breakfast on Easter Sunday. After the suffering in Turkey & Syria due to the earthquake, an appeal was put out from the Bishops, as always our parishioners were very generous and we raised £455 for this noble cause. Wlth regard to the dlsabled access and repainting of the Church, the Select Vestry are stlll exploring grant funding to help with this as we would be unable at this moment in time to fund this ourselves. On a sad note, we were sorry to lose two of our esteemed members Mr John Templeton and Mr Gordon Sutton, they will be sadly missed from our Sunday Services. May God Bless each and everyone in the Parish and may he continue to guide Alan and his ministry team in the way they deliver God's word to us all. Again we would like to thank you all for everything you do for the Parish either by Your help, your thoughts, your prayers and most of all just the fellowship we all share together in the parish with God and each other.
