bei 2024. The financial slalemenls have bpen prepared in accordance Y￿th the accounting policies sel out of
page 11.
Governlng Document and Constitutlon of the Charity
Chapler111 of the Conslrtulion ol the Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Parochial Organisation. The Select
Vestry n￿MberS are the Charity Trustees.
Organisatlon
The Trustees who have served during the year are detailed out on page 3. The seled vestry ITrusleesl is re•
sponsible for the fabrr, furnishings and finances of the Parish. The Select Vestry consists of the tnefflber of the
clergy serving the Parish, the Churchwardeiis, glebe wardens and generalty not more than 12 other members ol
the general vestry elected al the General Vestry. The sekcl vestry is chaired by the incumbent.
All membeis of the Church ol Ireland who tire over the age 0118 and are either resident within the parish or live
elsewhere bul have been accustomed mernbers of the congregation for al least three months, may register as
member5 of the general veslry ol the parish, allowng Ihern lo attend and vole al meetings ol the general vestry
and lo sland for election lo the select veslri. Meetings of the general vesliy are held al least once a year. The
select vestry 15 elected as part ol the General Vestry meeting. The select vesty will hold their posrtions lor a pe.
riod of one year. Select vestry membeis m,iy be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of terms
which rnay be served.
Oblectlves and Activities
Christian religion al its core seeks lo provide care and support lo Ihose at point of need. Direct tenelil of part￿l-
palion in church life includes the enjoymenl ol publ￿ worship and giving and receiving of pastoral care. As a
church body we seek lo engage with our lo-al cornmunrty and encourage social and community inlegralion.
We are an active body with regular furFdrai£ing and communrty events during the year and a willing and ab
body ol volunteers lo assist in our work, Nii trustee or volunteer received any remuneiation, reward or private
benefit for carrying out their Iruslee respon.sibility.
The social benefits ol volunteering provide a sense ol purpose and belonging within the church community. We
also gel lo enjoy hisloric building and artef<icls and appreciate our rich Christian heritage.
People Irequenlly seek access lo church records lor research and genealogy. conservation, property and arte-
facts and the subsequent and continued requests for access and use of our materials by the wider society. The
direct beneficiar￿S of this purpose are the
hurch members and the general publ￿. There is no haim arising from
the purpose. No private benelrt is received by Iruslees fulfilling their trustee responsibilit￿8 in respect of these
records, buildings or artefacls. On occasioii spèciali51 professional external services are engaged essential Its the
fuffilmenl of the task. Our church is celebraling 250 years since CDnslruclion started on that Sile and we have
also completed mapr slruclural work lo the church buikling wthin this year, which has been an event of ￿lebr&
IK)n in church lrfe of a beautiful histor￿ relic which has been preserved lorlhose today and those in future lo en.

Achievement, Performance and Public Benefit
The Parish missk)n is lo the advancement ol relKJion through holding regular worship and pastoral care and sup
port of Parishioners and the local community.
Sl John's Parish Church has weekly services on Sunday momings comprising of a mix of Hoty Communion,
Family Services, Baptism Services and Morning Prayer logelhei with various other special services during the
year such as Lenten Serv￿e$, Holy Week serVi￿S, Harvest Thanksgiving Services, Advent and Chrislfflas Carol
Services.

The Select Vestry is chaired by the Rector Off￿lating in the Parish, The Select Vestry are resKx)nsible for decision
making and steer on the matters of finan￿, structural upkeep and tnainlenance in compliance with Slate church
gislalion. The Select Vestry meets al limes prior arranged by ils members, rural dean 01 by the Diocesan
Synod. Special rneelings may be addilonal convened al any lime by the Chairperson or the Churchwaidens.
The parish has given due consideration lo the Charity Commission lor Northern Irelands guidance on public bet
efrt lo ensure that the aclivrties entered into during the year have assisted with achieving the Parish aims and
objectives as well as providing publ￿ benefrt.
Financial Review and Investment Policy
During the year ended 31 December 2024, the principal source of income ol St John's Parish Church continues

The principal expenses of Sl John's Parish Church during the year was in respecl ol payments regarding Di(K

Sl John's Parish Church continues lo be in a reasonable financial slate as al the 31 December 2024 with total

as well as potential future capital projeds.

The Tru51ees have examined the major slialegic, business and operational risks which the charity faces and con-
firm that systems have been established Iii enab￿ regular reports lo be produced so that the ne￿Sary steps
can be taken lo reduce these risks.
Going Concern
The Iruslees have reviewed ils planned expenditure for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate
funds available lo ensure that the Parish can continue its activrties and the financial slalemenls for the year
ended 31 De￿rnber 2024 can be signed e,ff as a going cOn￿rn.

Statement of Trustees. Responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for prep￿Ing the Truslees'Annu31 Report and the Financial Statements in accord-
ance with the applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards.
The law apPI￿able to charrties in Northern Ireland reouires the trustees lo prepare financial slalements for e￿h
financial year. Under Ihal law the Iruslees have prepared the financial slalemenls in accordance with Generally
Accepted Accounting Practice in the United Kingdom laccounling standards issued by the Financial Reporting
Council in the UK, including Charities SORP IFRS 1021. Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Stalernenls of
Recommended Practice applicable lo charities piep3ring their accounts in accordance wrth the Financial Report-
ing Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic ol Ireland IFRS 1021 and profflulgaled by the Insti-
lute of Chartered Accountants in the United lfjngdom and United Kingdom Lawl. Under that law the Iruslees
musl not approve the financial statemènts unless they are salislEd that they give a true and lair view ol the slate
ol the affairs of the charity and of the slalemenl ol financial activities of the charity lor that period.

landl 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonab

1. Accounting Policies
Sel out below are the principal accounting policEs which have been adopted in the compilation of the Receipts
and Payments Account and the Slalemenls ol Assets and Liabilities.
{al Receipts and Payments Account
All ileTns ol income and exFEndilure included within the Receipts and Payments Account have been
awounled for on a cash receipts basis.
Voluntary income is received by way of donations and grfls and is included in full in the statement of
Financial Activities when Re￿iv3b1e. The value ol services provided by volunteers has not been
included.
The Parish generally meels ils day lo day working capital iequiietnenls from ils annual income. The
Trustees have obtained and reviewed cash flow lor&asls for the coming year and based on these are
satisfied that the Parish has resources lo piovide a reasonable expectation that rt can continue lo rneet
rts financial obligations as they fall due lor the coming year. Therefore, these financial statements have
been prepar& on a going con￿rn basis.

the benefit lo the users ol the accounts and lo the parish.
Fixtures and Fittings are deemed lo be HerilageAssels as defined by the Charities SORP IFRS 1021.
These fixtures and fittings are artefacts contained wrthin the Church Building and Iheii Preserbation and
contribution lo cutture are ancillary lo faith and other purwses. Heritage as5els are not included in
Slalernent of Assets and Liabilrtie5 as information cannot be obtained at a cost cotnmensurale with the
benefit lo the users of the accounts and lo the parish.
The Rectory usage is shared between the Parishes of Keady, Derynoose, Arnaghbreague and
Newtownhamillon. Keady Parush rnainlain ownership ol this property and as a result this building is not
recognised in the Parish Slalemenl of Assets and Liabilities.
