The Beaver and Cub Sections of the Group have remained active: Beavers aged 6-8 years and Cubs aged 8-10 years. The Scout section of the Group, aged between 10-14 years. recommenced in September 2022 after many years, absence and the Group has also established an Explorer section in the latter part of 2023124 year.
Section meetings take place weekly during term-time, following a structured programme of age-related games and activities. to engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. The Group has had a busy year, with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers meeting on a weekly basis. For the 2023124 year, there were 16 Beavers, 33 Cubs, 16 Scouts and 2 Explorers. We played games, undertook badge work and used online programme suggestions provided by the Scout Association. Through our weekly activities, Beavers gained the following badges: My World My Adventure My Teamwork Cook Experiment Cubs gained the following badges: Emergency Aid Stage 1 Navigation Stsge 1 Paddle Sports Stage 1 Nights Away 315 Scouts gained the following badges: Entertainer Community Impact Nights Away Air Activities Stage 3 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers undertook local activities as well as participating in a number of Nl and County activities during the 2023124 year including Beaver Rally Day, Cub Quiz, Cub and Scout bowlinglfootballldodgeball competitions, Scub (Cublscout) camp to name a few. Funds are allocated to activities and events which are both enjoyable and encourage the young people to become more independent and self-reliant, developing teamwork and skills for life.
