A summary of the chari￿5 main activities to further its purposes for the public beneflt and the
main achievements in the year
There were 32 girls in the unit.
The girls enjoyed a varied and fun programme throughout the year including games, crafts and
completing activities from Girlguiding's programme themes- Be Well, Know Myself, Have
Adventures, Take Action, Express Myself and Skills for My Future.
All girls completed Girlguiding Ulsterfs Centenary challenge pack and earned the badge. In
addition, many girls achieved a variety of interest badges and 8 bronze awards, 6 silver awards
and 2 gold awards were presented. As a unit we worked on 2 Skill Builder badges-
Communicate and Express Myself and all girls achieved these badges.
During October we focussed on keeping well and had a Pilates instructor take a meeting and a
dance teacher another. the girls thoroughly enjoyed these physical exercise evenings. We went
to the cinema to see Matilda, had a visit from a science teacher who did fun experiments with
the girls and had a local potter come to help the girls make a snowman ornament each.
Social Action for the year was decided by the girls and they made money boxes to save some of
their pocket money, as a unit we then went to the local Spar where they spent their money on
groceries and then took these to the local foodbank at Via Wings. With Dromore Guides and
Rainbows we planted 50 trees in Dromore Park as part of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative.
19 Brownies attended our weekend Pack Holiday at Lorne and an additional 8 joined us for the
day on Saturday. We had a Disney themed weekend and activities included abseiling, Clayrazy
craft, painting, a scavenger hunt, parachute games and a pamper evening.
We celebrated the Kinls Coronation by completed Girlguiding Tyrone's Coronation challenge
pack and having a party with Dromore Rainbows. This included crafts, bouncy castle and making
s'mores.
There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.
