Scouts Annual Report 2022 2nd Donaghadee In the early part of the year SUtIng was given the green light to resume certain activiiies atthough we still adhered to our safety predUres. Ifs been a long 2 years and the young people and their leader5 needed to get out and enjoy their activities as best they could within the perimeter5 of safety. Squirr•ls ag•d 4- 6 yr5 The transition of Squlrr•ls into the Scout Group has been seamless and has worked well. They have been a busy lol, both indoors and outdoors, being creative with play and attending organised outdoor events to eam tsir badge Wofk. B•av•rs ag•d 6- 8 Y2 yrs The B•av•r C•lony have a180 been corrpleting badge and enjoying a variety of activities as well as having fun both Indoc and outdoors. They f(USed on their wodd scout badge, Promi and first as well as numero &hievements and challenge badges. Cubs agod 8 %- 10 yrs Cubs focused rnainty ¢)n outdoor activi this year weather pemiitting arKI achieving a number of badges on skills set and various awards. Saouts ag•d 10 ½ - 14 yrs Soouts have been aclive in the outdoors having completed a night walk and hike to Crawfordsbum, then had an ovemight stay. They had (xmps in Crawfordsbum whlch the young people thoroughFy enjoyed. They have also been able to resume District and County activities and take part in the competitions. As we were unabk to celebrate our 60° anniversary of Scouting at 2" Donaghadee, they planted 900 Tete- a-Tete daffcxlils in pots. Later in the year these were handed out to the communty in Donaghadee, as a 'cheer up day. to pul a smile on everyone's faces as we ty to emerge from the restrictions of the last 2 years. This gesture was well received and appreciated by those who received them. The Scout Group now has a total of 101 young people with its dedicated teadership team. Leaders continued to c<)rnplete trdlning as requlred. The Scout Executive continued to support the Scout Group and kept up to date wilh the ongoing regulations and changes and continuing to advise where ne(xssary. As the Group looks foard, it has seen an excellent attendance record frc¥n the young people. The leaders have t)een very creative in managing and deltvering interesting programmes for each section.
