## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year**

We learnt all about the different nutrients in food, produced ink prints using plastic, took a survey and mapped out similarities and differences. We tried relaxation techniques. Party planning was the next activity: we chose several roles and planned an event. Jumping at every opportunity to eat, we made sherbet. We had a visit from the police, so were on our best behaviour,

and celebrated Thinking Day, a major event in Girlguiding.

We continued with programme activities. For Mother's Day we made candles by immersing hot wax into cold water, making very interesting and unique shapes. We learnt magic tricks, including how to make a coin disappear and finished with some Easter crafts.

During the summer term we played a game called ‘Black Hole Blitz’; all about the planets & stars. We enjoyed the outdoors by exploring plants and animals for ‘Biodiversity Blitz’. We completed a sponsored treasure hunt around the village, raising funds as part of The Lorne Walk, Girlguiding Ulster’s major project.

‘Take Action’ was our next theme, learning about the unfairness of barriers put in our way, and also completed some activities about the Guide Promise. We celebrated the King’s Coronation with a party., which was partly funded by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council.

We continued the programme with ‘Campfire Playlist’. For ‘Stuck in the Mud’ we planned our ideal camp layout avoiding natural features, and we played ‘Tent Beetle’, learning about parts of a tent we would need and in what order, and we learnt some new international games.

We joined Cullybackey Guide for a cinema trip to see The Little Mermaid. One Guide achieved her Guide Gold Award

We decorated stones for the Guide Garden, made paper spider webs & eyeballs from marshmallows for Halloween and took part in the church service on Remembrance Sunday.

Five girls were chosen to represent Girlguiding Ulster on International Trips in 2024, and we are fundraising to support them: we made cards and decorations for the Broughshane Christmas Fair and parents made cakes for the stall which made £852.35.

Eleven girls participated this year.
