1[ST ] HILDEN SCOUT GROUP
Report of the Trustees for year ended 31 March 2022
The Trustees present their report with Financial Statements of 1[st] Hilden Scout Group for the year ended 31 March 2022.
The Group is an open unsponsored group based in Forthill Integrated Primary School, Low Road, Lisburn. The Group is part of the Northern Ireland Scout Association and provides Explorers, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels, meeting weekly on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The members are mainly drawn from the local community and the Group is managed by the Group Scout Leader and the Section Leaders. The group has recovered well after the 18 month suspension due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The total membership numbers are very strong. This is partly because the group has opened a new Explorer section (ages 14 – 18). It is also partly because the NI Squirrel Association merged with the NI Scout Association in December 2021 meaning 1[st ] Hilden Squirrels officially became part of the Scout Group. It should be noted that following the suspension due to the pandemic the Squirrels did not actually meet until after this merger occurred. The new sections means the group now caters for children from 4 to 18 years. There are 12 adult leaders spread across the group.
An age related programme is delivered in accordance with the policy of the Scout Association and the requirements of the Education Authority Youth Services.
The Trustees wish to thank the Principal Mr Anderson and the Governors of Forthill Integrated Primary School for the hire of the school and their continued support for the work of the Scout Group. Thanks is also expressed to the District Commissioner Mrs Audrey Morrow of Lisburn and District Scouts for her support and guidance during the year.
The Trustees confirm that they have met their duty to: Ensure that the Group has kept the proper accounting records and prepared financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of the group at 31 March 2022.
The Trustees are satisfied that the 1[st] Hilden Scout Group is a going concern.
