Bangor Historical Society Notes to the Accounts For the year ended 31st December 2024 Accountln Pollcles Statement of compllance The financial statement5 have been prepared in accordance with the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) {effective l January 20161- (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021 and the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. Basls of preparatlon The accounts are prepared under the historical costs convention on an accrua15 basis. Exemptlon from preparlng a cash flow statement The charity opted to early adopt Bulletin I published on 2 February 2016 and have therefore not included a cash flow statement in these financial statements. Revenue recognltlon Revenue is reco8nised upon receipt and the main activities of the society include: Subscriptions, ticket sales for member's evening and bus outin85} (currently suspended Nature and purpose of Funds Unrestricted funds are available for 8eneral purposes in accordance with the the charity's purposes. There are no restricted funds or endowments. Goln8 concern The Trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern. Taxatlon The charity is a registered charity and is therefore exempt from taxation. Trustee remuneratlon. beneflts and expenses No trustees are paid any remuneration or receive any other benefits from the charity. Expenses are only paid to refund expenditure in relation to charity business.

The £15 annual membership fee increased to £20 from 12th September 2024. 2 Visitors, fees - 15 visitors @ £3 each + 18 visitors @£4 each - £117. The £3 visitorfs fee increased to £4 from 12th September 2024. 3 Fees to Speakers were £95 less than in 2023 as the meeting of December 2024 was cancelled. The fee to Speaker on 10 October 2024 was also donated instead to 'Discover Groomsport,. 4 BHS paid rent of £90 to The Methodist Church for 3 meetings (instead of 41 at £30 in Spring 2024 at The Wesley Hall in former Queen's Parade Methodist Church. IA Credit of £30 was allowed for a cancelled meeting in 2023.1 Rent of £90 from September to November 2024, will be paid on 9 May 2025 and has been included as an accrual. S Payment of £50 was made to the caretaker of The Wesley Hall venue for his support at meetings. 6 A £100 donation was made to Dona8hadee Preserrfation Society on 24 August 2024 plus a donation of £50 was made to 'Discover Groomsport, in lieu of a speakerfs fee on 10 October 2024. 7 Secretary's expenses include administration costs for production of prograrnmes for visitors, photocopying and other general costs in connection with the society. 8 Treasurer's expenses Include administration costs for postage, photocopying, stationery and other general costs in connection with the society.
