Scouts
|**A summary of the**
**Charity’s main activities**
**and achievements in the**
**year**|_These are the main activities undertaken by this Charity to further_
_its charitable purposes for the public benefit of its beneficiaries._
_All Sections of the Group have remained active:_
_Squirrels (4-6), Beavers (6-8), Cubs (8-10), Scouts (10-14)._
_Section meetings take place weekly during term-time, following_
_a structured programme of age-related games and activities, to_
_engage and support young people in their personal development,_
_empowering them to make a positive contribution to society._
_During the year 1st April 2022-31st March 2023 all sections_
_celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and planted a tree in the_
_church grounds for the Queen’s Green Canopy. All sections took_
_part in the annual youth service and they also made up_
_shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child._
_The Squirrel section enjoyed playing games, did artwork, and_
_worked towards their badges. They completed the Feel Good_
_Activity Badge, the local superhero badge and the I’m Active_
_activity badge as well as the Altogether Challenge Badge. They_
_joined with Beavers for a virtual sleepover and an outdoor visit_
_from Allan from Wee Critters._
_The Beavers enjoyed a varied programme as they played games,_
_made a variety of crafts, learnt new skills, and complete several_
_Challenge and Activity badges including the Air Activities and_
_Disability Activity Badges. They also had a virtual sleepover with_
_some very excited squirrels, Allan from Wee Critters showed_
_several exciting animals on an outdoor visit and they had a trip to_
_the Pumpkin Patch with other Beavers from the County. Those_
_moving on to Cubs received their Chief Scout Bronze Awards._
_The Cubs completed badge work such as Emergency Aid, Chef,_
_Artist and Navigator working towards the Core Challenge_
_Badges. Their Fun Day was to Lurgaboy Adventure Centre_
_where they participated in Orienteering, Team building, archery_
_and Canoeing. Seven Cub Scouts completed the Chief Scout_
_Silver Award in readiness to move to Scouts._
_The Scouts undertook badgework and games each week as they_
_worked towards achieving the Chief Scout Gold award. They_
_took part in a three-day camp held at Lorne Estate where they_
_had the opportunity to engage in activities such as a gorge walk,_
_a gladiator challenge, team building games and a day trip to_
_Bangor. They were well represented at the Remembrance Day_
_Parade and Service in Cookstown where they laid a wreath._|
