## **Financial Year**

## **Summary of Charities Main Activities (to further its purpose for the public benefit and its main achievements in the year)** 

_April 2022 saw the start of the outdoor activities with cadets undertaking a range of activities including rowing, sailing, power boating and Duke of Edinburgh classes. These continued into the Autumn whilst weather and light allowed._ 

_The cadets also started competing in local and  national competitions for rowing and 5 a side football._ 

_June 2022 - the cadets visited HMS Raider and played an active role in the celebrations for Bangor’s new city status._ 

_October 2022 - the cadets began drill practice for a number of important upcoming events._ 



_November 2022 – Bangor joined cadets from across Northern Ireland to celebrate the Sea Cadet’s 80[th] Anniversary. The cadets also took part in Remembrance events in Bangor and Groomsport._ 

_This month also saw a number of the Trustees step down to be replaced a by a new team. The new Trustees have begun upgrading disabled access and addressing various building maintenance issues. In addition, the Trustees are seeking ways to cut costs, whilst raising more funding, to compensate for the unprecedented increases in all costs. For example, the electric bill increased from £50 per month to £257 per month._ 

_December 2022 - the cadets won Gold & Bronze at Rowing Regattas, and almost every Cadet managed to complete a new element of their logbooks._ 

_January 2022 - the cadets achieved 5 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Certificates._ 

_February 2022 - the Snr Girls 5 aside football came 1st in UK and the Jnr Boys came 3[rd] . Cadet also achieved awards in Drills, Meteorology, First Aid & Rowing._ 

_March 2023 - the cadets cleaned and polished the unit to perfection, then demonstrated a range of skills, to pass the Area inspection. The cadets also completed a Rowathon which raised over £800 for the unit._ 

_This month also saw the longstanding Commanding Officer step down to be replaced by a new one._

_All Trustees of Bangor Sea Cadets are aware of the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance._ 

## **Charity’s financial position at the end of the year.** 

_The charity opened the financial year with a bank balance of £ 3284.59p and closed the financial year with a balance of £ 2525.82p_ 

_The charity’s assets consist of the meeting hall, 3 sailing dinghies, 3 trinity rowing boats, 1 cheverton champ, 1 rigiflex rescue boat, 10 kayaks, 9 paddleboards and a minibus._
