As a result of actlvlty In pursult of the Christian religion, Middletown Parish Church has custody of propertv and of reeords, materials and artefaets of significance to the cultural and rell8lous herlta8e and malntenance of whlchls undertaken bythe select vestry of Middletown Parish Church, Achlevements, Performance and Publlc Benefft: Central to the work and witness of Mlddletown Parish Church Is the provlsion of regular public servlces of Christian worship. These services take place each Sunday at 9.30am. Holy Communion is celebrated on the second Sunday of each month, wlth a Famlly Servlce on the fourth Sunday of th¢ month. Our Har¥est Servi¢e and Chrijtmas Carol SeThice are each held cn a Sunday afternoon at 3,30pm. Children and voung people are encouraged to play an attlve port in our church servlces. "A fime for Prayerf rneets on the first Monday of each month for the parochial £rouplng, and Is open to everyone. This includes visits to hornes in the community. hospitals. hospice. residential and nursing homes. provision being made for the administratlon of Holy Communion. The Middletown Parish Community Hall continues to provide 3 welcomin8 environment for church actlvitie5 Including Sunday school, Bible Study. vestry meetings, harvest and funeral tea5. Middletown Parish Church. alon8 With the othèr two p3ri5he5 in our parochial 8rouping, continues to work In partnership with the 8ukavu Dlocese in DR Con80 and CMSI to support the Church's efforts to reach out to provide 5pirltual hope• practlcal emergency care, and on8oln8 protertlon and support for vulnerable people. The Parish also SUPPOrts a variety of local charitios including the Armagh Foodbank and the Salvation Army Christma3 Pre3cnt Appeal. We have ? monthly news sheet. Publlc Benefft In setting our objettives and plannlng our activities for the year, the trustees gav8 careful conslderatlon to the Charlty Commlsslon foi Northern Ireland's 8uldance on publlc beneflt to ensure that the activitles entered into helped to achieve the charltys purposes and PFovlde a benefit to the beneficlarles. The church ser¥lces and activities mentioned above benefited all age groups In ourcomfnunityand farther afield. They were cariied out where w>ssible, takin8 due co6ni5ance of the Coronaviru5 Covid-19 pandemlc and In complIan￿ wlth both the Church of Ireland and Nl Executive guidellnes, to fulfil our statement of Public Benefit. Durlng our tlme of enforced c105ure during 2021, due to the Coronaviru5 Covid-19 pandemlc. we were able to keep in contact with parlshloners through our on-line servlces, parish WhatsApp group. text messages and phone calls. Funerals were conducted observlng all the protoco15 and recommendations outlined by both the Church of Ireland and the Northern Ireland Executlve. Financial Review The prlncipal source of income of Middletown Parish Church contlnues to be from Donations and Plate Collections. The principal expense of Middletown Parish Church 15 in respect of payments regardin8 Dlocesan Charges.

Middletown Parish Church had total Income of £20,910 and total expenditure of 16,448 for a total net income of £4,462 for the year ended 31st December 2021. The B¥4nk and Cash 8alance was £42,417 It is the trustees, policy to hold sufficient reserves to cover ernergienciÈs, for maintonance of church property and to further the objertives and attivities of the Church of Ireland. Golng Concern The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds In place to ensure that the Parlsh can contlnue Its actlvltles, and the financlal statements for the year ended 3151 December 2021 can be signed off as 3 going concern. The Select Vestry members ale the Charity Trustees. Recrultment andAppolntment of the Selert Vesty (Trusteesl All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the a8e of 18 year5 and are elther re51dent wlthln the parlsh or Ilve elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the con8regation for at least three months, may register as members of the general vestry of the parish, allowln8 them to attend at meetin8s of the general vestry and to stand for election to the select vestry. Meetings of the 8eneral vestry are held at least once a year. The Select Vestry Is elected as part of this General Vestry meetin8. Th9 5elett Vestry will hold their positions for a perlod of one year. Select Vestry members may be re-elected annually and there is no Ilmlt on the number of terms that may be served.
