Objectives and Activities
The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion.
The principle functlon of Tynan Church of Ireland Parlsh Church is to support the advancement of
the Christian rellgion by promotlng, through the work of the Tynan Parish Church the while mission

As a result of artivlty In the pursuit of the advancement of the Christian relSglon, the Tynan Church of
Ireland Parish Church has custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of significan
to the cultural and religlous heritage and Maintenan￿ which is undertaken bythe selett vestry of
the Tynan Church of I￿land Parish Church.
Achlevements, Performance and Publlc Benefit
The Parish provldes weekly worship and prayer, there is provision of pastoral care, mlssion and
outreach work In the community.
The Parish has supported public worshlp and provided the opportunity for public worship to occur
through which Christian witness and outreach is delivered. All members of the public benefit from
the public worship.
There was also specific worship artlvlties aimed at specific age groups. There was a youth group for
all those aged 4-12 and Sunday school for anyone up to the age of 14. These groups were aimed and
providing young people with the opportunlty to worship with young people their own age and to do
this in a fun and positlve manner. Prayertime was on the l Monday of each month which is open
to everyone and brings people together for prayer.

Public worship and the above named groups are contributing to the splrltual well-being of
participants, the reinforcement of Chrlstian values and an opportunity for individuals to come
together who may feel isolated.
We have mitigated any potential harm from the activities by folk)wing our Child protection policy
and everyone required has completed thelr safeguardln8 trust tralning.
The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland 's
guidance on public benefrt to ensure that the activitles entered Into durlng the year have helped to
achieve the Parish's objectives and activities, as well as providing publlc benefit.
Financial revlew
The Parlsh is currently in a good financlal situation wtth the accounts. There is currently no deficit at
the end of the 2023 reporting year.
Going Con￿rn
The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satlsfied that there are adequate
funds in place to ensure that the Parish can continue its activities and the financlal ststements for
the year ended 2023 can be signed of as a going concern.
Structure, Governance and Management
Govemlng Document and Constitution of the Charity
Chapter111 of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Parochlal Organisatlons.
The Select Vestry members are the Charity Trustees.
Recrultment and Appolntment of Select Vestry (Trustees)
All mernbers of the Church of Ireland who are overthe age of 18 and are either resldent wSthin the
parish or live elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the congregation for at least three
months, may register as members of the general vestry of the parish, allowing them to attend and
vote at meetings of the general vestry and to stand for election to the selett vestry. Meetings of the
general vestry are held at least once a year. The Select Vestry is elected as part of the General
Vestry meeting. The Select Vestry will hold their positions for a period of one year. Select Vestry

members may be re-elected annually and there is no Ilmit on the number of terms which may be
served.
Pay and remuneratlon
Tynan Parish Church does not pay any salaries.
OrganI￿tiOnal Structure
The select vestry is responsible forthe day to day management of the parish. The select vestry
consists of the members of the clergy serving in the parish, any curate assistsnt ("the curate.), the
church wardens, the glebe wardens and generally not more that twelve other members of the
general vestry elected at the General Vestry.
The select vestry Is chal￿d by the incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the parish.
Select vestry members are responsible for making decisions on matters of general concern and
Importance to the parlsh including deciding how parish funds are to be applled.
The selert vestry meets at times fixed by the members of the diocesan synod. Speclal meetings may
be convened at any time by the chalrperson or the church wardens, In 2023 the Select Vestry met 2
times during the year and the average attendance vias 75%.
Compllance wlth Publlc benefit
The parish has given careful consideration to the Charlty Commission for Northem Ireland's
guidance on public benefit to ensure that the actlvlties entered into during the year have helped to
achleve the Parlsh's objectives and activities, as well as providing publlc benefit.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trusteeg report and the statement of Recelpts and
payments and statement of assets and liabilltles in accordance with_applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to tharities in Northern Ireland with Income less that £250,000 requlres the
trustees to prepa￿ a statement of recelpts and payments and a statement of assets and liabllities
for each financial year.
The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records that are sufficient to show and explaln
the Parlsh's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities
of the Parish. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Parish and hence for
taking responsible steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
