Trustees, Annual Report for the year ending 2022 The trustees present the annual report and statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilities for Tynan Church of Ireland Parish Church for the year endlng 2022. Objectives and Activities The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion. The princlple function of Tynan Church of Ireland Parish Church is to support the advancement of the Chrlstlan religion by promotin& through the work of the Tynan Parish Church the while mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society as a whole and offering support for those needing help are fundamental to the practi dellvery of the benefits of Christianity. As a result of artivity in the pursult of the advancement of the Christlan religion, the Tynan Church of Ireland Parlsh Church has custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of significance to the cultural and religious heritage and maintenance which Is undertaken by the select vestry of the Tynan Church of Ireland Parlsh Church. Achievements Perf0rrnan and Publlc Benefit The Parlsh provldes weekly worship and prayer, there Is provision of pastoral care, mission and outreach work in the community. The Parlsh has supported public worship and provided the opportunity for public worshlp to occur through which Christlan wttness and outreach is delivered. All members of the public benefit from the public worship, There was also specific worship actlvities almed at speclfic age groups. There was a youth group for all those aged 4-12 and Sunday school for anyone up to the age of 14. These groups were aimed and providing young people with the opportunity to worship with young people their own age and to do this in a fvn and positive manner. Prayer time was on the l Monday of each month which is open to everyone and brings people together for prayer.
Public worshlp and the above named groups are contributing to the spiritual well-being of participants, the reinforcement of Christian values and an opportunity for individuals to come together who may feel isolated. We have mitigated any potential harm from the artivities by following our Child protection poli and everyone required has completed their safeguarding trust training. The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland 's guidance on public benefrt to ensure that the artivities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objertives and activitles, as well as provldlng publlc benefit. Flnancial review The Parish Is currently in a good financlal sltuation with the accounts. There is currently no deficlt at the end of the 2022 reporting year. Golng Concern The trustees have reviewed the budget5 for the year ahead and are satlsfled that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the Parish can contlnue Its actlvitles and the financial statements for the year ended 2022 can be signed of as a golng concern, Structure, Governance and Management Governlng Document and Constltution of the Charity Chapter111 of the Constltutlon of the Church of Ireland governs Parlshes and Parochial Or8anisatlons. The Select Vestry members are the Charity Trustees. Recruitment al Appolntment of Selert Vestry (Trustees) All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the age of 18 and are either resident within the parish or live elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the congregation for at least three months, may register as members of the general vestry of the parlsh, allowing them to attend and vote at meetings of the general vestry and to stand ft)r elertion to the select vestry. Meetings of the general vestry are held at least once a year. The Selett Vestry is elected as part of the General Vestry meeting. The Selett Vestry will hold their Posbtions for a period of one year. Select Vestry
members may be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of temis which may be served. Pay and remuneration Tynan Parish Church does not pay any salaries. Organlsatlonal Structure The select vestry is responsible for the day to day management of the parish. The select vestry conslsts of the members of the clergy serving in the parish, any curate assistant {"the curate.), the church wardens, the glebe wardens and generally not rn0 that twelve other members of the general vestry elected at the General Vestry. The select vestry is chaired by the incumbent or other member of the cler8y officiating in the parish. Select vestry members are responsible for makin8 decisions on matters of general concern and importance to the parish including deciding how parish funds are to be applied. The selett vestry meets at times flxed by the members of the diocesan synod. Special meetings may be convened at any time by the chairperson or the church wardens. In 2022 the Selett Vestry met 2 times during the year and the average attendance was 75%. Statement of Trustees, Responsibllities The trustees are re5pon5ible for preparingthe Trustees, report and the statement of Receipts and payments and statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations. The law applicable to charities Northern Ireland with Income less that £250,000 requires the trustees to prepare a statement of reipts and payments and a statement of assets and liabilities for each financial year. The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting CordS that are sufficlent to show and explain the Parish's transattions and dlsclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities
