90[th] Belfast Scout Group AGM Minutes 18[th] October 2023

Present

Lisa McKinney (Trustee)

Aldo Moscato (Trustee)

Iain McKinney (Trustee)

Item 1.

A discussion between the leaders for 90[th] Belfast Scout Group and 40[th] Belfast Scout Group was had recently at which it was agreed that the two groups should merge. The reasons are logiscal, in that both groups are run from McCraken Memorial, and they have different secons, i.e. the 40[th] has Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs, and the 90[th] has Scouts, and currently a linked Explorer Group, Ad Maiora.

The proposal put forward by Aldo Moscato at this meeng is that the 90[th] and 40[th] Merge, and Ad Maiora remains a linked Explorer Unit.

Aldo also noted that we will of course seek the direcon and advice of the District and the County on this maer.

The proposal was seconded by Iain and Lisa McKinney, and it was passed.

Item 2.

Aldo then reported to the trustees on the acvity since the 90[th] Group and Ad Maiora started back in October 2022, having had a break during the Covid 19 Pandemic. 90[th] and Ad Maiora have been running together due to a lack of leaders.

Despite this lack of leaders we sll managed a varied program including our weekly meengs at McCracken, and also trips to the Lagan for Paddle Boarding, Orienteering and map reading around Finaghy and Upper Malone. We carried out a foreign cooking challenge were Italian, American and Indian dishes were prepared and tasted by the children.

aended. As usual this was the highlight for the children.

We have started again in September 2023 and a full round of acvies, helped by the fact that we now have 4 leaders, up from 3 last year.

Item 3.

Iain McKinney agreed that he would, as in prior years prepare the Group accounts for 90[th] & Ad Maiora, in preparaon for submission to the Charies Commission by the end of January 2024.

## Item 4.

Aldo wanted to put on record our gratude to Fountainville Scout Development trust for their connued support of both 90[th] and Ad Maiora. It was agreed by the other Trustees that the work of the group would be almost impossible without this help.

Item 5.

The bank balances where discussed, and a total figure of £3790.54 was in the 90[th] Scouts Account, and £666.43 in Ad Maiora. Iain is to lodge £240 into the 90[th] and £240 into the Ad Maiora account this week. We will have fees of £32.50 per scout in January. Currently we have 6 in Explorer and 6 in Scouts.

Item 6.

Callum McCloskey is doing the Explorer Belt in Luxembourg in 2024, so we will be helping with the finance of that. He will also likely be organizing a camp in McCracken before this trip takes place in order for the parcipants to get to know each other.

Item 7.

and expenses.

The meeng ended, with agreement that the report would be circulated as required.
