Mr William Humphrey MLA Charity Purpose The principal function is to help young people to become empowered to make a positive contribution to society through being engaged and supported in their personal development including physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. Main Activities The Scout Group fulfils rts chantable functions and public benefft through a range of activities. Primarily the various sections of the Group follow the Scout Association programme of training and instruction enabling young people to achieve various awards and badges which are structured to deliver the purpose outlined above. The sections have made a number of visits during the year for example to activity centres and to civic setvice eg Belfast City Hall and PSNI station. The Group has interacted with others such as local senior citizens to develop their sense of servi and have carried out clean up events in the local area. As OnseqUen of Servi linked lo outdoor activities the Group has benefitted the local area. There was no ham flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no pnvate benefit. Public Benefit requirement The Trustees are made aware of their and the chanties obligations to meet the objectives of the charity and scrutinise the work of all those concerned wth the day to day management and leadership of the various sections. Training is carried oul through the parent Ofganization - the Scout Associalion. Financial Position The Group had an income sufficient to meet outgoings during the year after taking account of maintenance work drawn from earmarked reserves. The Trustees are content that there are no concerns as to the viability of the Group.
