Independent examinerfs report to the charity trustees of 48th West Belfast Scout Group NIC103940 I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 March 2018, which are attached. Respective responsibilities of charity trustees and examiner As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008. It is my responsibility to= exarnine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act follow the prO￿dureS laid down in the general Directions gNen by the Commission under section 65(9){b) of the Charrties Act state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's report I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act. My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations frorn you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe.. 1. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act 2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records 3. That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act 4. That there is further information needed for a proper understsnding of the accounts to be reached I have completed my examination and have no COn￿mS in respect of the matters (1) to (4) listed above and, in connection with following the Directions of the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland, I have found no matters that require drawing to your attention. scouts th 48 West Belfast Scout Group NIC 103940 Trustees Annual Report l April 2017- 31 March 2018 Trustees in 2016 Mr James Shaw MBE., Mrs Eileen Wilton: Mrs Mary Morrison, Mr William Humphrey MLA Charity Purpose The principal function is to help young people to become empowered to make a postlive contribution to society through being engaged and supported in their personal development induding physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. Main Activities The Scout Group fU￿11S its charitable funciions and public benefit through a range of adivities. Primarily the various sections of the Group follow the ScoLrt Association programme of training and instruction enabling young people to achieve vanous awards and badges which are structured to deliver the purpose outlined above. The sections have made a number of visits during the year for example to activity ￿ntreS and to civic Servi￿ eg Belfast City Hall and PSNI station. The Group has interacted with others such as local senior citizens to develop their sense of service and have carried out clean up events in the local area. As a consequence of Sery1￿ linked to outdoor activrties the Group has benefitted the l¢xal area. There was no hami flowing from the CharrtEs purposes and there was no private benefrt Publbc Benefit requirement The Trustees are made aware of their and the chariiies obligations to meet the objectNes of the charity and scrulinise the work of all those COn￿Med with the day to day management and leadership of the various sections. Training is carried out through the parent organization - the Scout Association. Financial Position The Group had an income sufficient to meet OLrtgoings during the year after taking account of maintenance work drawn from earmarked reserves. The Trustees are content that Ihere are no cOn￿mS as to the viability of the Group.
