Mr William Humphrey MLA Charity Purpose The principal fundion is to help young people to become empowered to make a positive contribution to society through teing engaged and supported in their personal development including physically, intelledually, socially and spiritually. Main Activitles The Scout Group fuifils its charitable functions and public benefit through a range of activrties. Primarily the various sections of the Group follow the Scout Assoaation programme of training and instruction enabling young people to achieve various awards and badges vthich are structured to deliver the purpose outlined above. The sections have made a number of visits during the year for example to activity centres and to civic service eg Beffast City Hall and PSNI station. The Group has interacted with others such as local senior citizens to develop their sense of service and have carried out clean up events in the local area. As a consequence of service linked to outdoor activities the Group has benef￿ed the loGal area. There was no ham flowng from the Chanties purposes and there was no ￿ale benefit. Public Benefft requirement The Trustees are made aware of their and the charities obligations to meet the obJ"ectives of the charity and scnjtinise the work of all those con¢emed wÈth the day to day marbagement and leadership of the various sections. Training is carried out through the parent organEation - the Scout Association. Financial Position The Group had an income sufficient to meet OLrtgoings during the year after taking account of maintenan work drawn from eam)arked reserves. The Trustees are content that there are no concems as to the viability of the Group.
