Kesh Development Association Chairman’s Report

This has been a hard year for KDA. Rising costs and declining financial support mean there is an even bigger challenge in making the books balance. Whilst the Centre is well used, it could be even better used by groups from the town and from other agencies. We have an excellent facility that is kept clean and tidy so why don’t more people use it?

We are delighted that new groups such as the North Fermanagh Vintage Society have started and the work of the Evergreens continues to have a big impact locally. I hope that Power NI are proud that they are charging 60p per unit – commercial rates for use by a community charity serving the needs of the Kesh community.

We also not note a very stop-start process for the refurbishment of our community marina. Whilst we welcome any work on the marina some aspects of the design and the way its being built are a cause for public concern. We hope to see this finished soon and along with improved dredging of the river.

Finally, I would like to thank our continued financial support from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Kesh Enterprise Co Ltd and from the many folk using the Centre. We are also glad that we s have Catherine, who keeps everything ship shape and legal.
