Objectives and a¢tfvltles
The principal objective of the charity is to help alleviate the sufferingof children in Northern Ireland with,
or affected by. longtarm ortermlnal illness* physlcalormentaldisability. and bereaved children and their
famiLies by providing trips to Lapland and other locations and other social, therapeutlc, l8isure and
entertainment facilities.
All the children who go on the fantasyflights are selected by Local hospitals throughoutthe province. The
Gharlty achlev8S this by fundraising all year round as there is no govemment, lottery or other fundlng.
Northgm Ireland's Children to LapLond and Days to Remernber Trust are able to arrange travel and
medi¢8l insurance to make these trips happen, backed up by full medical care for the duration of the
trips.
The trustees have reviewed the Charvty Commission for Northern IreLand requirements relatlng to publlc
benefit and confirm that the charity meets the criteria set dovm therein. Northern Ireland's Chlldren to
LapLand and Days to Remember Trust bècame regi8tered with the Charfty Commlsslon tor NortheTn
Ireland on 9September 2015.
Achievements and performance
We are pLeased to report that nomiality has been resumedl
In 2022, we made our annualtripto Lapland, on a 189 seat aircraft,with 85 deserving children on
board. We also continued oui popular'3 Stsps to Christmas, Gampaign, with 35 children receiving £250
worth of presents.
2023 saw us once agaln tske a 189 seataircraft to Lapland and continue the 3 Steps CaMpa￿n for35
ChiLdren. We were also delighted to have sufficientfundsto aLiow us to take 12 chronically ill children
and their parents on a 3 daytTiP to EuroDisney in Paris.
Financial review
The detaiLed results fortheyear and the charity's financial position £tthe yearend are set out in the
attached fin£nclal statements.
The total unrestricted incoming resources for the accounting period amounted to £206,373 (2022:
£132,771). with expenditure of £187,121. {2022: £113,603). This has resulted in net incoming resources
forthe year of £19,252 (2022." £19,168). Unrestricted funds remainingatthe year end amounted to
£200.214.12022: £161.794}.
The main incoming resources ofthe charityare from donations.
