The Trustees of the Holy Cross Accordion Band Atb'call present their report for the
year ended 31st March 2023.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Charity was registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland on 2nd
of De￿mber 2015. The Charity's goveming document is the Consts'tution.
Holy Cross Accordion Band Atticall is a a youth band that leams music and marching
techniques and enters competitions and accepts invitab'ons to parb'cipate in parades
providing entertainment to the public.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objective of the charity is to encourage the youth of the area to join a team and
learn music by playing a number of various instruments or train to be a majorette or
a flag carrier in the colour guard. The charities aim is to advan￿ Ihe education and
raise the level of artistic taste of the general public in appreciation of music by
perft>rming music of a high quality to a high standard through Ihe medium of the
accordion band.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
Due to the aftermath of The Covid Pandemic and the harsh reality of the downtum in
the music and arts sector. We had to begin the slow prO￿sS of rebuilding the band.
We have recruited new members at present all primary school age. Practi￿ takes
place on a vEekly basis and the tuition is prOl￿ded by three qualified and
eXperIen￿d original band members. Our new members can choose to learn the
Accordian or Tin Whistle and all members leam to March in conjunth'on with the
music and instruction.
Our ethos still remains the same to enjoy learning music, making friends and
creating memories that last forever.
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
In setting objectives and planning activities for the year the Trustees have given
careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on
public benefit and are confident that the activities have helped to achieve the
charity's purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
FINANCIAL RESULTS
The main Sour￿ of income of the charity is from weekly lotto and tuition fees.
FINANCIAL RESERVES
The Charity does not have a specific policy on reserves, but the Treasurer aims to
maintain enough money in the bank account to fund all forthcoming expenses.
TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITES IN RELATION TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The charity trustees are responsible for preparing a trustees, annual report and
statement of accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities
Commission for Northern Ireland.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose
with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posib'on of the charity and to
enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charits'es Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008 and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations
(Northern Ireland) 2015. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of
the charity and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and
other irregularities.
