Section meetings take place weekLy during term-time. foLlowing a structured programme of age-related games and activities. to engage and support young people in their personaL development. empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. er The Group had a busy year, there was a good attendan from all sections at Poyntzpass British Legion Remembrance servi and Parade. Squirrels, ILeaders Karen and Jenny with help of others. started with 8 which included 4 new members who were invested in November. The Squirrels took part the following Group activities. -we looked at topics of Harvest, Brilliant Builder, Lo Superhero. We had a joint Halloween party with Beavers, music dancing and paty food and a joint pre Christmas wth visit of magician Elf and Santa. We covered Bi Garden Birdwatch, Robbie Bums wth visit of Phil, the piper, St Patricks Day, Shro Tuesdaylpancakes & Valentines Day, 100 years of Disney, International Polar Bea Day, National Pet Day, World Art Day. Earth Day. Let it Grow and World Bee Day, with visit of local Beekeeper, lots of crafts. activities and games and a joint BBq an games with Beavers. Thanks to all our visitors who helped wth our programmes. Squirrels earned Superchef, Lo¢al Superhero, Storytime, ,Get Creative. Brilliant Builder. Let it Grow, Lets Celebrale. Lets Celebrate, both leaders completed Safeguarding as came due. Karen completed Qualsafe Level 3 award in Em8rgen First Aid course. Beavers, Leaders Judith wslh new assislant Leader Liz. Started with S, other joined taking number to 9. The Beavers completed Team Challenge badge workin together to Save a Droid and as teams had to design and build bridges and Being Friend activities and then made a stretcher lo take a casualty to safety. spa Bad with star gazing and watching videos about astronauts and other fund activities an Global Issues Badge covering recycling. reducing waste. endangered species and water filtrating. Other activities included 8eaver biscuits, Harvest activities. a joint party wth Squirrels music, dancing, games and party food for Halloween and aga joint with Squirrels visit from Elf magician and Santa. Also covered Burns Night Including visit of piper, Garden Birdwatch, Pancake & Valentines National International Lego Day and Nalional Muffin Day, Mothers Day & Easter crafts. National Strawberries and cream Day, World Bee Day with visit from local Bee Keeper and also had a BBQ and games evening. Thanks to all our visitors who helped us deliver our programmes. Cubs, Leaders unchanged- Elsa, Mark, Judy & Drikus. Summer camp wth PoyntzpasslRathfriland Scouts Augusl 2023, lotof varied and acts'vities. In September 10 Cubs 6 Boys, 4 girts. We had Investiture night in November, new members made Cub Promise for first time while the others renew their Promise. A very busy year as always with lot5 of different crafts, activities, games . food and fun. Promise Hand Activity, Pumpkin craft, Christmas bauble cra Mothers Day Wooden Tea Light Holders made and decorated, Easter Squishy Eg these last two using paint pens, they are great to work with. Made models out of recyclable materials, always popular and fun activity. Christmas we had joint night with Scouts. Nerf War games and supper of Pizza,juice and cake. We covered Robbie Burns Night with some loosely themed Highland games, a visit from a piper and some scottish food. We made and enjoye eating pancakes for Shrove Tuesday . We covefed St Georges Day and had a Cu Scavenger hunt on Towpath. Also a joint BBQ & games night with Scouts.

Judy Lyons & Mark Cairns with their eggs, chicks, hens and guinea pigs re Animal Carer badge and local Bee Keeper visited and demonstrated how he looks atter Bees, we did this around Wodd Bee Day. Thanks to you all for helping 5Js deliver these programmes. To eam Pel lanimal Car one week worked in teams eaming Pet care license learning and answering quiz on different pets, each brought in own report of caring for a pet or farm animal Safely and read them ouushowed us picturesl photos and Mark Calms and Judy Lyons brought along eggs, thicks. ducks, hens and guinea pigs and Cubs got to hold some of them and learn all about how Mark and Judy care for them and win rosettes at Shows. Challenge'.Badges Personal, Teamwork and Adventure for a few All given up to date Participation awards and 3 Cubs earned Chief Scout Silver Award. Scouts Leaders unchanged -Neil, Jacob, Richard R, Richard Mccsummer camp August 23 at one of Castlewellan Forest Park sites with Poyntzpass Cubs and Rathfriland Scouts, lots of fun and varied activities. 5 Scouts this year, 4 male and 1 Female which were investedlrenewed their Promise during the year. Scouts had a year of varied activities and games, they also had 8 few outings .a Saturday Hike, others were out of hall in local area. Outings '. Hike, Litter pick in Poyntzpass vi118ge, Scavenger hunt on Towpath, Christmas event joint with Cubs Nerf Wars Games and pizza supper, In Loughbrickland District Hall, BBQ & Games again joint with Cubs. Bee Keeper Visit. local Bee Keeper came along and demonstrated, told Scouts about bee Keeping, adults and Scouts all found it very interesting. Thank you for coming along and delivering this programme. Our annual Quiz was on Friday 1st March, a successful event well supported, an opportunty to meet and renew friendships and a fun evening as well as raising some funds. Group Quiz A statement that the Trustees have had with regard to the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance All Trustees named afe aware of the Commission's Public Benefit Requirement and Statutory Guidance. There was no hami flowng from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit. Funds are allocated to activities and events that are both enjoyable and encourage the young people to become more independent and self- reliant, developing teamwork and skills for life.
