BARNAMAGHERY RURAL SOCIErY 9/10/24 The Society met on the above date with the chairman Thomas Woods in the chair. Thomas welcomed everyone back after the summer break and we had a discussion about arranging speakers and events for the incoming year. It was agreed that we would try to get a speaker from the Ulster Scots Society to give a talk at the next meeting in November. Thomas declared all offices vacant and asked for proposals for the office of Chairman. It was proposed by Armour Jackson and seconded by William Moody that Dougie Marr be elected as chairman, there were no other proposals and Dougie accepted the position. It was then proposed by Robert Mcclurg and seconded by Evelyn Woods that Thomas Woods be elected a5 secretary, this was duly accepted. It was then proposed by Dougie Marr and seconded by Thomas Woods that all other officers be re-elected in their existing positions, this was agreed by all present. The accounts were presented to all present and all agreed that they be accepted as in order and correct. The accounts were inspected by the two independent people and signed by them. Dougie thanked Sam for all his work in keeping the accounts up to date. The next meeting was arranged for 20.11.24. Every one then enjoyed a cup of tea and a chat.
