Main Activities The Scout Group fulfils its charitable functions and public benefit through a range of activities. Primarily the various sections of the Group follow the Scout Association programme of training and instruction enabling young people to achieve various awards and badges which are structured to deliver the purpose outlined above. The sections make a number of visits during the year for example to activity centres and to civic services, The Group has retained its numbers in the last year. There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit. Public Benefit requirement The group meets the Charity Commission's public benefit criteria under both the advancement of education and the advancement of citizenship or community development headings. Leadership training is carried out through the parent organization - the Scout Association. Financial Position The combined Group income rose during the year. The Trustees are content that there are no concerns as to the viability of the Group. Thanks mainly to legacies the group is on a sound financial footing with no debts.
