LISBURN CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
TRUSTEE REPORT 2023
The above Church exists to proclaim and advance the Christian faith as set out in the Bible which we believe to be the inerrant Word of God to all who attend or live in the surrounding area. No-one is excluded. A prayer time is held before each service. The fellowship has approximately 70 families connected to it with a regular attendance of approximately 80 individuals on a Sunday morning and 40 in the evening.
Our primary focus is to meet for worship both morning and evening each Sunday when the Gospel is faithfully proclaimed. However, we also run a program of varied activities throughout the week.
-
Our Ladies Fellowship meet on Monday evenings from September through to June with an attendance of 20-25. During the session they engaged in a variety of activity from hearing about Missionary endeavors to learning about practical matters such as flower arranging to keeping fit and healthy. Highlights of the year were their Christmas Dinner and Spring outing.

• Wednesday morning was Mums and Tots group meet from 10.30 to 12.00 a.m. with around 20 tots enjoying fun-based activities. At the same time Mums and sometimes Grandmom’s enjoy sharing with each other over a tea or coffee.
-
The Girl's Brigade also meet on Wednesday evening with the older girls and the younger girls meeting on Friday afternoon where they played games, P.E. craft etc., and each group has a Bible Class.
-
Thursday our Mid-Week Bible Study and Prayer meeting continued where again we heard and learnt from God's word. Usually, once a month, we would have had a Missionary speaker to share about their work, whether at home and abroad.
-
Our weekly CD ministry continues through the distribution of Sunday Service recordings to those folk who, because of age, infirmities or illness can no longer attend in person.
Each year in February we have a Missionary week-end with a variety of Missionaries giving reports of their work and commencing with a Safari supper with tasting food from different countries and a Missionary representative bringing a Gospel message. During the first week in July, we also held our annual Holiday Bible Club which was attended by around 70 children from the surrounding area.
This year we played our part in the Government sponsored Hardship & Warmth Program. Each Thursday from January to May we provided a soup lunch and the opportunity for the 40 and more attendees to keep warm and enjoy friendship with others. This was especially welcomed by carers who used the time as a period of respite.
In May, we welcomed some 200 local folk to a special Community Service and Lunch to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles 111.
The financial need of the fellowship is funded largely through freewill contributions from members and adherents. A full finance report was presented to members at the Annual General Meeting which after queries were answered was accepted.
