The Charity was formed in 2004 and it is governed by a Constitution adopted by the group
that year.
A summary of the charity
The Charitable purposes of charity are to provide a local educational resource, promote
and preserve the culture and heritage of local people, promote cultural confidence and
civic pride, bolster morale of the community and harness the abilities of local people; Id)
to facilitate the examination, exploration and appreciation by all of Ulster-scots language,
history, music, tradition heritage and culture in an open and positive manner to
encourage mutual understanding.
To further these purposes for the public benefit we carried out the following activities:
Ulster-scots music lessons recommenced with a good number attending the weekly
classes. The Community Association also bought the local telephone box and plans to
make it a feature in the village so the residents who relied on it for so long can retain it.
There are no private benefits incurred from the group's activities.
Main achievements in the year
The main activity of the group this year was the dance classes and the work at the hall.
The voluntary maintenance scheme where we sponsored and managed the bi-weekly
cutting of grass verge5 throughout Spring, Summer and early Autumn to enhance the look
of our village and prevent accidents on the roads by hazardous long grass blocking views
for drivers..
