The Charity was formed in December 1934.
The Charity is constituted a trust.
The Charitable purposes of the charity are; to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
To further these purposes for the public benefit, we carried out regular weekly meetings, including indoor and outdoor activities, encouraging young people to learn by working towards and earning different types of badges and camps at which the young people undertook new and challenging activities.
The main achievements of 1st Greenisland Scout Group in the year were the provision of regular Section meetings for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts; all young people aged between 4 and 14 – an average weekly attendance of circa 80 young people. In addition, events were attended at District, County and Northern Ireland level. Across the Sections there have been many awards made through Activity Badges, Staged Activity Badges and Challenge Awards appropriate to each Section.
Cubs and Scouts have attended Camp and Beavers had a sleepover in the Hall.
The trustees have read the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance and have had mind to this when running the Charity.
In the financial year 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024 the Charity had an income of £7,537.79 and an expenditure of £9,601.95.
There are no funds held by the `charity that are materially in deficit.
