Dungannon VIP Club
Annual Report April 2023 - March 2024
This year we were once again successful in
getting three grants: £ 750 from Macan Trust
for the Blind. This money was spent on
transport where needed. We are very grateful
for this grant as it is vital to our Club
members.
£500 was received from the Woodlawn Trust
and this was used for our Theatre Night out in
Armagh in November 2023.
£750 was received from the Mid-ulster
Council and was used for Auditing,
Insurance, and part payment for out annual
outing.
Donations totalling £300 was received from
four local businesses: McAnallens, Benburb.
Mills, Benburb, Frews, Moy and Mccord
Engineering, Cookstown.

Penny Box totalled £39.97.
Car Boot Sale raised £345.00.
Book Sales via Internet raised £30.16.
April 20 . We met in the Annagh Hall where
we held our Annual General Meeting. The
election of Committee was undertaken at this
meeting and was facilitated by Mr Ian
Williamson. A catering committee was also
set up at this meeting.
May 17 . A picnic in Dungannon Park and
games.
June 15 Annual outing to Antrim Gardens
and shopping and meal at Colemans Centre,
Templepatrick.
July 27 . Picnic in Dungannon Park.

August i*: BBQ at June & John's home at
DrLllnlee. Entertainment and fun followed.
Sept 4- W: 4 Day Holiday in Lorne Estate,
Holywood. We all enjoyed beautiful weather
and visited the Folk Museum at Cultra. We all
enjoyed an Archery session.
Sept 21": Met in the Hall and played Boccia.
Letter was received from Mrs Anne Willis to
tender her resignation from Chairperson of
the Club.
Oct 9 A special committee meeting was
held to co-opt Mr Gerald McBride into office
of Chairperson. This was agreed by all
present at the meeting.
Oct 19 . Gerry was welcomed as our new
chairperson. A gift voucher was presented to
Anne for her retirement from committee. We
had a visit from Fiona from RNIB and gave
an infonnative talk on technology for Blind
and Visually Impaired people. Greta started

up a WhatsApp group which has proved very
useful for contacting each other.
Nov 16 . The meeting started with a minutes
silence in memory of one of our members,
Mrs Nellie Kirkland who has recently passed
away. Mrs Doreen Donaldson was speaker
today and told amusing stories and read
poems, some that were her own poems.
Dec 4 . Christmas Dinner was held in
Cohannon.
Feb 15 . Our meeting in the Hall. A minutes
silence was held in memory of one of our
members Mr Gerald Talbot who passed away
recently. Our speaker was Mr Jim Smart,
who entertained us with singing and playing
his ukulele.
Mar 21": Meeting in the Hall. Played
Boccia, Uno and Draughts.

Our grateful thanks once again to go Loraine
at COSTA organisation for all her help, for
helping with the submission of our reports to
the Charity Commission of N. Ireland. We
have been, as you can see, a very busy Club
and our thanks go to all who help with the
many, many jobs which help to make the
Club run smoothly. The Committee
appreciate all the members support and look
forward to all activities and events planned
for the year ahead.
