## **Classes and Workshops 2022** 

With Covid restrictions lifted GADDA had the challenge of reopening and encouraging the community to avail of the programme of events/ workshops it offered. 

In January 2022, Be Unique Drama offered weekly Drama and Dance classes to children in the local area.  These classes were well supported and ended in the summer with a weeklong summer school. 

Tuber Tuesday Mens Group recommenced in January 2022 meeting weekly from 10am to 12noon to maintain the community garden and do various woodworking projects for the community.  The group is facilitated and supported by social workers. 

Monday Morning Art Class started on 17[th] January 2022 for 12 weeks each term.  Approx. 10 participants attended each term guided by artist Louie Winward. 

A community choir was formed in February 2022, The Monday Singers who meet every Monday at 7.45pm in Garvagh Community Building.  The choir have performed at various local events throughout the year under the guidance of Ciaran O’Drisscoll. 

On St Patricks Day children had the opportunity to create their own bear Leprechaun with Jumping Clay Magherafelt with about 30 children attending the workshop. 

Fabulous Frogs and Happy Hedgehogs Pottery Class for children aged 6 + was held on Saturday 19[th] March 2022.  Children learnt various pottery techniques while creating their frog/hedgehog and glazed them ready for firing. 

Wednesday Women Group continue to meet weekly from 10.30am to 12.30pm with guest speakers on health and wellbeing, arts and craft classes, ran valentine event and Christmas Santa trail etc 

For Easter children created Easter Bunnies from Jumping Clay – over 30 bunnies hopped very happily out of the building on the 9[th] April 2022. 

We welcomed Louie Winward back again on 21[st] April 2022 for a Piggy Bank pottery workshop. Children aged 7+ created their very own piggy banks using various pottery techniques to ensure they stayed in one piece during firing – please to report all survived! 

During the summer GADDA ran a couple of Summer Schemes for children which included a 3 day jumping Clay workshop; Drama workshop; Music in Park event; Painting workshop. 

For Halloween, there was a Spooktacular painting workshop. 

The year ended with a Christmas Jumping Clay workshop, Carol singing and Christmas dinners for local senior citizen group.
