DRAMA CIRCLE THEATRE TRUST

Annual Report April 2024 to March 2025

Name of the Charity is Drama Circle Theatre Trust

NI Charity Commission number is 103761

The purpose of the Charity is to promote and advance the education, knowledge, technique and and theatre of students of dramatic art and of theatre by enable study and/or travel in the furtherance of such studies.

The names of the current Trustees are Ms D Wiley, Ms M McClelland, Ms G Beresford, Mr A Marshall and Mr H Montgomery. All the above functioned as Trustees during 2024 to 2025.

The financial year is 6th April, 2024 to 5th April, 2025.

As we had lost our chairperson on the death of Mr Cavan last year, the Trustees agreed, unanimously, to elect Mr A Marshall to the post which he agreed to accept.

Further discussion by the Trustees re co-opting several new Trustees. Two names were suggested and both were accepted as possibilities: Mr Wilfie Pyper and Mr Mark Irwin. It was decided to defer the final decision to see if any other names could be suggested.

At a later meeting the name of Mr Walker Ewart was added to the prospective new Trustees. After some discussion, it was agreed that the Chairperson would contact Mr Pyper and Mr Ewart to find out if they would be interested in becoming Trustees.

The grants are openly on offer to an applicant successfully meeting to satisfy the Trustees of his/her passion in the furtherance of his/her studies and education in drama and theatre.

The Board feels they are meeting these requirements.

The capital of our investments, under the guidance of our financial advisers, continued satisfactorily in a fluctuating market. As our overheads are low, most of our money can be awarded in grants. We completed the year with an income of £2,593.08

No grant was made during the current year.

No funds were in deficit at the end of the year.
