The purpose of the Charity is to promote and advance the education, knowledge, technique and appreciation of drama and theatre of students of dramatic art and of theatre by grants to enable study and/or travel in the furtherance of such studies.
The names of the Charity Trustees on the date the report was approved were Ms D Wiley, Ms M McClelland, Ms G Beresford, Mr P Cavan, Mr A Marshall and Mr H Montgomery.
All the above functioned as Trustees during 2023 to 2024 except Mr P Cavan who died during this period at the end of May, 2023.
The financial year of the report is 6[th] April, 2023 to 5[th] April, 2024.
One grant was made towards the functioning of a local drama festival of plays from various groups.
At the start of the year i.e. April 2023, the accumulated interest on investments was £3,427.83.
The grants offered are openly on offer to any applicant successfully meeting the requirements to satisfy the Trustees of his/her passion in the furtherance of his/her study and education in drama and theatre.
The Board feel they are meeting these requirements.
The capital invested by the Trustees, under the guidance of our financial advisers, continued to function satisfactorily in a fluctuating market. As our overheads are low, most of our income can be awarded in grants. We completed the financial year with an income of £2,500 plus.
No funds were in deficit at the end of the year.
