The members have not required the charity to obtain an audil of ils accounts for the year in queslion in
accordance with section 476; and
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect
to accounling re¢ords and lh¢ preparation of accounts.
These financial 51alements have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to companies
subject to ihe small companies regime within Part 15 of the Companie5 Act 2006.

The charity is limited by guarantee, incorporated in Northern Ireland, and consequently does not have share
capital. Each of the trustees is liable to contribut¢ an amount not exceeding £ l (oward5 the assets of the charity
in the event of liquidation.

Summary of significant accounting policies and key accounting estimates
The principal accouniing policies applied in the preparation of ihese financial statements are sel out below.
These policies have been consislently applied to all ihe years presented, unless oihenvise stated.
Statement of eompllance
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities,.
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charilies pr¢paring their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effeciive l January
2015) - (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland (FRS 102). They also comply with the Companies Act 2006 and Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
Basls of preparatlon
Broughshane Playgroup Limited meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and
liabilities are initially r¢¢ogni5ed at historical cost or tr&n5action value unl¢ss otherwise stated in the relevan(
accounting policy noies.
Golng eoncern
The trustees Consider that there are no material uncertainties about Ihe charity's ability to continue as a going
¢oncern nor any significant areas of uncertainty that affect th¢ carrying value of assets held by the charity.
Income and endowments
All income is recognised once the charity has enti¢lement to the income. it is probable that the income will be
recieved and the amount of the income receiveable can be measured reliably

Expendilure
All expendilure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to that expendilure, il is probable
settlement is required and the amount can be measured reliably. All costs are allocated to the applicable
expenditure heading thal aggregale similar costs to that category. Where costs cannot be direcily attributed to
particular headings they hav¢ been allocated on a basis consistent with ihe use of resources, with. ceniral siaff
costs allocated on the basis of time spent. and depreciaiion charges allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
Other support costs are allocaled based on the spread of siaff costs.
Charliable aeilvllles
Charitable expenditure comprises those cosls incurred by ihe charity in the delivery of its activities and services
for 115 beneficiaries. li includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an
indirecl nature necessary to support them.
Taxation
The Charity 15 considered to pass the tests set out in Paragraph I S¢h¢dul¢ 6 of the Finance Act 2010 and
therefore it meets the definition of a charitable company for UK corporalion lax purpose5. Accordingly, the
charity IS Potentially ex¢mpi from taxation in respect of income or capital gains received within calegories
covered by Chapter 3 Part I l of the Corporation Tax Act 201 O or Section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable
Gains Act 1992, to th¢ extent that such income or 8ains are applied exclusively to charitable purposes.

Individual fixed assets are inilially recorded at cost, less any subsequent a¢cumulat¢d depreciation and
subsequenl accumulated impairment losse5.

Depreciation is provided on iangible assets so as to write off the cosl or valuation. less any eslimaled residual

Trade debtors are amounts due for services perfonned in the ordinary course of business.
Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash on hand and call deposits, and other short-terni highly liquid

change in vaSue.
Fund structure
Unrestricted income funds are general funds that are available for use at the tru51ees discretion in fifftherance of
the objectives of the charity.
