## Activities

**Purposes:** The Company’s objects are specifically restricted to the promotion and advancement of community development, the promotion of urban regeneration, the promotion of the Christian faith, the relief of poverty, sickness and the aged and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”) of the Glencairn area and its environs of the Greater Shankill area of Belfast, Northern Ireland (hereinafter described as &quot;the area of benefit&quot;) without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of fostering a community spirit and improving the conditions of life for the benefit of the inhabitants and in particular to: (a) the provision, maintenance and management of a community facility for the use of the inhabitants for activities promoted or facilitated by the Company including use for meetings, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; (b) to promote or assist in the promotion, facilitation and organisation of community capacity building programmes and projects for the benefit of the inhabitants within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity, or social and economic circumstances, in an effort to increase the abilities, skills and self-confidence of such inhabitants; (c) to promote community safety through the support and development of appropriate programmes and projects which aim to address crime and anti-social behaviour; (d) to promote community participation in healthy recreation by the provision or assistance in the provision of facilities, equipment and coaching for the playing of sports capable of improving health for the benefit of the public and in particular children and young people; (e) to relieve poverty by the promotion, facilitation and organisation of adequate, accessible and quality programmes of vocational and educational training, information and support in an effort to acquire skills and retraining to assist the beneficiaries in obtaining employment; (f) to support community development and wellbeing activities and to work with partners to support community cohesion and urban regeneration through, the promotion of adequate housing conditions, the provision of recreational facilities and the development of a sustainable community; (g) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity.
