for the year ended 31 August 2022
The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2022.
Charitable objects
The charity was established to advance and to proTnot¢ the preservation and protection of health amongst
children in the Newtownstewart area of Co Tyrone. This is done by the provision of play facilities and
recreation activities in the interests of social welfare with the object of enhancing the ediication and
development of the children without distiiictions of sex, race. political, religion or other opinions. Tli¢ charity
benefits the public by providiiig a high standard of preschool edLication for children below the compulsory
school age.
Organisational structure
The trustees meet regularly, administer the charity and make all policy decisions.
Review of activities and achievements
During the academic year 2021122, 24 children attended under Education Authority Peg's fiinding. The cliarity
applied for and received various other grants for specific resources and projects. The trustees, staff and parents
were very active in fundraising, raisiiig a significant amount to help ¢ov¢r running costs. The trustees are
pleased with feedback from parents, Early Years etc and are satisfied that child development is enhanced in
line with their objectives.
Volunteers
The charity is grateful for the unstinting efforts of its triistees and other volunteers who have continually
supported tlieir activities and management of the charity throiighout the year.
Statement of trustees, responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and regulations.
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial stateineiits for each financial year which give a true and
fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at the year end and of its receipts and payments during that year.
In preparing those financial statenients, the trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply tliem consistently.
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
state whether applicable accounting standards and stateinents of recominend¢d practice have been followed
subject to any departures disclosed and explained iii the financial statements. and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the
charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of tlie charity and
enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with section 65 of the Charities Act (Nl) 2008. They
are also responsible for safegiiarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking r¢asonable steps for the
prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
