Walkway Community Associalion continues to seive the local coniinunity in the
Bloomfield/Ravensci"oft area and the widei. coinmunity in East Belfast. The organisation has
moved into oui. neiv building and held an official opening day on ihe 14 Septeinbei" 2023. Tlie
staff and volunteei's ensui'ed that thei-e was a smooth ti-ansfei. of gi-oups and their resoui-ces into
our new home.

continue to opei'ate as a cominunity facilRty offei-ing seivices in the ai'ea of benefit. We al'e ￿nded
undei. Neighboui'hood Renewal io assist in iinprovingthe lives of the i-esidents in oui. area. Through
funding fi'om DFC, we have been ableto sustain the staff who have been i"esponsible foi" tlie
manageinent and daily opei'ations of the organisation, the new building and the usei" gi"oups. We
contiiiue lo suppoi't and mentoi. our gi.oups offei'ing guidance on community develoi)ment pi'actice
and pi'incipals. Staff continue to paitticipate in ti'aining i'elating to tlieii. positions, two meinbel's are
cui-rently attending Universily.

Walkway Community Association continues lo deliver i)rogi'amines and projects designed to nieel
tlie needs of oui. nienibei's and i-esidents. Financial suppoit fi-om Belfast City Council, Education
Authoi-ity, Ui-ban Villages, DFC, Awai'ds for All, Halifax and othei's Iiave enabled the oi'ganisation to
woi-k in tlie local coinmunity on iiiany identified i)i-ojects.
Tlie organisation is repi'esented on many netwoi'ks, Inakingy connectioiis witliin the coiiimunily to
share expei-ienccs and pi'oiiiote paitnei-ship woi-king. We have been involved in suppoi-ting and
delivering coinmunity capacity building pi'ogi-amines, culiui-al awareness, coniinunity safety aiid
coiiiinunity engageinent activities.
We contiiiue to delivei- pi'ogi'aiiimes for youth in pai-tnei-ship with otliei. voluntai'y and statutory
organisatioiis. The Education Authoi'ity continues to suppoit the orgaiiisation by funding staff and
pi'ograinines listed below..
Rugi'ats Junior Youth Club, Ravers Senioi" Youth Club, Football Pi'ogi"amme,Detached woi"k.
Oui. youth team has inci'eased and has been able to deliver many educational pi"ogi'ainmes foi. all
young people in oui. area as per theii- delivei-y plan foi. the yeai.. The new building has atti'acted new
meinbei's and our numbei's continue to glow sigynificaiitly.
Funding fi'om Ui'ban Villages has allowed us to continue witli the Young Mum's progi"amme. 30
young muins al-e eni'olled in the pi-ograinmed and ci'eche is pi'ovided foi. 31 childi'en. This is a
successful pi"ogramnie recognised by GoveL1llnent depaitinents and held as a model of good pi"actice.
Othei- gi-oups continue to benefit fi'oin the projects delivei-ed by the organisation, Parents & Tots,
Ti'inity Theati'e Ai"ts, Walkway Women's Group, etc. Walkway Coininunity Association also
delivei. Inany seasonal progi'ainmes and projects designed to meet the needs of the local community.
A significant focus foi. this I'epoiting pei'iod was the cost-of-living issues faced by many people in
our conimunity. Walkway Coinniunity Association wei'e able to pi'ovide suppoit with i"ising food
and utility costs foi- individuals and fainilies. Continued suppoi't fi'om localchui-ches has also allowed
us to suppoit families dui'ing crisis periods.
A sti"ategic plaiining exercise was completed by the Managenient Committee to ensui'e the seiwice
delivei'y is tailoi'ed to meel the needs of the coniniunity. The sti-ategic plan foA' the pei'iod 2023-2026
has been pi'epared aiid i'eflects the needs ofthe oi-ganisation, the coinmunity and the voluntary sectoi-
