The directors present their Directors, Annual Report, combining the Directors, Report and Trustees, Report, and the
unaudited financial statements for the financial year ended 31 March 2025.
The financial statements are prepared in accordance with the Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting
standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and Accounting and Reportir)g by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their financial statements in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102}.
The D1￿ClOrS, Report contains the information reqLTired to be promded in Ihe Directors, Annual Report under the
Statement of Recommended Practice ISORP) guidelines. The directors of the company are also charity trustees for the
purpose of charity law and under the company's constitution are known as members of the board of trustees.
In this report the directors of Churchlown Community Association present a summary of ils purpose, governance,
activities. achievements and finances for the financial financial year 31 March 2025.
The company is a registered charity and hen￿ the report and results are presented in a form which complies with the
requirements of the Companies Act 2006 and, although not obliged to comply with the Statement of Recommended
Practice applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102. the organisation has implemented its recommendations
where relevant in these financial statements.
Mission, Objectives and Strategy
Objectives
The principal activity of the company is to promote the benefit of the Castlederg area and its environs in a common
effort to advan￿ education. relieve povety. relieve unemployment. preserve and protect health and provide facilities
in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving the
conditions of life for said inhabitants by..

During the review period up to 31 st March 2025, Churchtown CA continued to deliver a wide range of services and
activib"es. Attendances ￿CordS indicated a total of 349 individua15 accessed a minimum of one projecuservice during
the year.
Churchtown CA has continued to develop and work in partnership with numerous agencieslorganisations to deliver
community projects and services, an example of these projects. are highlighted below-.
Delivered 2 x 2 session Online Menopause Education & Awareness Programrnes, including ongoing Monthly
Menopause Support Group
Continued twice weekly Diva Den Sessions
Continued Men's Shed Activities
Continued Better Connected Sessions and liaised with Strabane Special Olympics Team.
Continued Crafty Craft Group- Addib'onal activities included Basic Sewing and Roman Blinds Making
Continued Community Allotrnent Activities
Expanded History Group Activities to include Study Visits. Genealogy Workshops and
co-ordinated a series of talks in both Newtownstewart and Sion Mills
Planned and Co-ordinated Horticulture Workshops in Castlederg and Killeter

Churchtown CA are currently a project partner with SUC￿55 North West. a project which aim to engage with
economically inactive cohorts to supportlmentor individuals with the view of enhancing employability and supporting
entrance to the labour market. During the review period numerous training opportunities were available to the project

etc}, lo voice opinions and influence local community actions, allowing a sense of ownership and community belonging.

Grant aid awarded from the Derg DEA Consensual Grant Making Model supported weekly socialisation sessions for
Adults with Learning Disabilities in Caslederg and Sion Mills. The sessions provided opportunities for participants to

Feedback from carers and the participant was extremely positive and indicated the following benefils were achieved for

The Age Friendly Programme was a community led initiative with 6 partner organisations planning. co-ordinating and
hosting Health MOT events within their own area. The primapi aim of each event was to promote and support healthy
litestyle choices, social connectedness, whilst providing the attendees with the skills and knowledge to remain as
independent as possible. whilst they engage in the local community life.

1) Provision of Community Venue for advancement of citizenship and community development
2) Advancement of education and relief of unemployment & poverty.
In assessing the benefits that flow from these purposes the association would suggest the following'.-
1 } Provision of Community Venue for advan￿ment of citizenship and community development. Through this provision
beneficiaries are able to improve the quality of their lives by accessing infomation and services which would otherwise
remain unavailable to them.
21 Advancement of Edu¢ation-, relief of unemployment & povety. The benefits that flow from this purpose is enhanced
educational attainment for the beneficiaries which improves their employability potential and increased confidence to
participate community life whilst reducing Social isolation. Through improved economic standing and employment

beneficiaries can move out of poverty and reliance on welfare.
The association measures the outcome of these benefits via a number of mechanisms such as.. Monitoring activities

of organisations availing of community cenlre. There is no harm potential flowing from the purposes of Churchtown
Community Associalion. The charity's beneficiaries are individuals who attend the various training activities and
information sessions. Additional beneficiaries include. members of the various groupings availing of the venue such as
AA, Family Contact Visits. local football clubs etc. The benefits of the association are open to the inhabitants of
Castlederg and it environs.

The directors are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordan￿ with applicable law and regulations.
Company law requires the directors lo prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the directors
have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally AC￿pted Accounting
Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable lawl including FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" Section 1A (Small Entities). Under company law the directors
must not approve the financial statements unless they a￿ satisfied that they give a true and fair wew of the state of
affairs of the company and of the surplus or deficit of the company for that period.
In preparing these financial statements. the directors are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently-,
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.,
stale whether the financial statements have been p￿pared in accordan￿ with the relevant financial reporting
framework, identify those standards, and note the effect and the reasons for any material departure from those
standards., and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company
will continue in operation.
The directors confimi that they have complied with the above requirements in preparing the financial statements.
The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the

DIRECTORS OF CHURCHTOWN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
We have examined the financial statements ofthe company for the financial yearended 31 March 2025, which comprise
the Statement of Financial Activities, the Summary Income and Expenditure Account. the Balance Sheet and the related
notes.
This report is made solely lo the company's members, as a body. in accordance with Chapter 3 of Part 16 of the
Companies Act 2006. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the finanaal statements that we have
been engaged to compile, report to the Board of Directors that we have done so, and state those matters that we have
agreed lo state to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fvllest extent pernitted by law, we do not accept
or assume responsibility to anyone other than the company and Ihe company's members, as a body, for our work. or
for this report.
Respective responsibilities of directors and examiner
The company's trustees (who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law) are responsible
for the preparation of the financial 51atemenls in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006. The
company's directors consider that an audit is not required for this financial year under Chapter 3 of Part 16 of the
Companies Act 2006 and that an independent examination is required.

We have examined your company financial statements as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our
examination was carried out in accordan￿ with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland under section 65{9)Ib) of the Charities Act. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
the company and a comparison of the financial statements p￿sented with those records. It also includes consideration
of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial slalemenls and seeking explanations from the directors conceming
any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and
consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to
those matters sel out in the statement below.
In connection with our examination. no matter has come to our attention which gives us cause to believe that in. any

For the financial year ended 31 March 2025 the company was entitled to exemption trom audit under section 477 of the
Companies Act 200S,' and no notice has been deposited under section 476.
The directors confirm that the members have not required the company lo obtain an audit of its financial statements for
the financial year in question in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Churchtown Community Association is a company limited by guarantee incorporated in Northern Ireland. The
registered office of the company is 48 Lurganbuoy Road. Castlederg. Co Tyrone, BT81 7HT which is also the
principal place of business of the company The financial statements have been presented in Pound (£} which
is also the functional currency of the company.
SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The following accounb'ng policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered
material in relation to the charity's financial statements.
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepa￿d on the going concern basis under the historical cost convention,
modified to include ￿rtain items at fair value. The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ with
the Statement of Recommended Practice ISORPI "Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS
102" applying Section 1A of that Standard.
As pemiitted by the Companies Act 2006, the company has varied the standard formats in that act for the
Slalemenl of Financial Activities and the Balance Sheet. Departures from the standard fomials are to comply
with the requirements of the Charities SORP and are in compliance with section 4.7. 10.6 and 15.2 of that
SORP.

The financial statements of the company for the financial year ended 31 December 2017 have been prepared
on Ihe going concern basis and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORPI
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporbng
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102" applying Section 1A of that standard.
Incoming Resources
Voluntary income or capital is included in the Statement of Financial Activities when the company is legally
entitled to it, its financial value can be quantified with reasonable ￿rtaInty and there is reasonable certainty of
its ultimate receipt. Entitlement to legacies is considered established when the company has been notified of a
distribution to be made by the executors. Income received in advance of due performance under a contract is
accounted for as deferred income until earned. Grants for activities are recognised as income when the ￿lated
conditions for leg21 entitlement have been met. All other income is accounted for on an accruals basis.
Resources Expended
All resour￿$ expended are accounted for on an accruals basis. Charitable activities include costs of Se￿ICe$
and grants. support costs and depreciation on related assets. Costs of generaling funds similarly include
fundraising activities. Non-staff costs not attributed to one category of activity are allocated or apportioned pro-
rata to the staffing of the relevant service. Finance. HR, IT and administrative staff costs are directly attributable
to individual activities by objective. Governance costs are those associated with conslitutional and statutory
requirements.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated al cost or at valuation, less accumulated depreciation. The charge to
depreciation is calculated to write off the original cost or valuation of tangible fixed assets. less their estimated
residual value, over their expected useful lives as follows=

Debtors
Debtors are recognised at the settlement amount due after any discount offered. Prepayments a￿ valued at

Taxatlon and deferred taxation
No current or deferred taxation arises as the company has been granted charitable exemption. Irrecoverable
valued added lax is expensed as incurred.
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance
sheet date where transactions or events have occurred al that dale that will result in an obligation to pay more
tax in the future, or a right to pay less tax in the future. Timing differences are temporary differences be￿een
the company's taxable income and ils results as stated in the financial statements.
Deferred tax is measured on an undiscounted basis at the tax rates that are anticipated to apply in the periods
in which the b'ming differences are expected to reverse, based on tax rates and laws that have been enacted or
substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.
