Vlsion and Public Benefit:
The Aims and Objectives of the Football Club are to promote the fitness and to advance the
education and facilitate the social development of young people from 5 year5 through to 15 years
through participation In football.
The charity trustees (club committee} are satisfied that the Public Benef it requ i rement has been met
across 2024/25,.
The direct benefits flowing f rom the purposes include i mproved physical f itness, learning
and social development of young people from 5 to 15 years within West Belfast achieved
through healthy partici pation i n sports and football.
Further, the benefits include an awarene55 of health through:
workshops, active engagement in football training programmes,
o I ncrease partici pation
o Encouraging belonging within the wider community,
an experience of teamwork and skills,
and i mproved opportunities to pa rticipate in local, national and international
competition.
The benefits can be demonstrated through:
o physical fitness and skills tests or assessments,
o the gaining by volunteer coaches of professional accredited qua l ifications,
measured levels of physica l activity
and overall feedback on improvements within the local community,
o Any harm which may ari5e- such as the risk of sports injury- Is outweighed by the
overall health benefits and any private benefits- such as the gaining of
qualifications by c03che5- 15 incidental or necessary to our fulfilment of the
purposes.

We do this through:
increasing the levels of participation in football,
i ncreasing the levels of physical activity in order to help prevent early onset of illnesses such
as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
It helps to improve emotional wellbeing in young people and allows them to divert their
energies into the positive activity of sport rather than engagi ng in anti-social behaviour.
We work in partnershi p with other organisations to increase opportunities for participants including
the Frank Gillen Centre, Falls Residents Association, Clan Mor Surestart, Roden Street Community
Development Group, Maureen Sheehan Healthy Living Centre, Divis Youth Project and the
Immaculata Amateur Boxing Club. Much of this cooperation and collaboration comes about in the
form of a voluntary arrangement under a banner of a Falls Partnership Initiative.
Specifically, this reporting year we have:
facilitated 45 weeks of football which included 5 night5 training per week with competitive
matches some weekdays & Friday night with most matches taking place on Saturday and
Sunday.
We currently have 13 teams with 193 children participating in football each week.
Increase of one extra team due to high volume of young people wanting to participate.
Through our partnership arrangements and running alongside training the young people
were offered workshops which included a range of relevant topics relating to wellbeing:
o Nutrition and sport
o Fitne5S
o Alcohol and Drug Awareness
o Active Citizensh i p
o Anti bullyi ng
o Health & Well-being Workshops
We also have been successful in recruiting volunteers in coaching, transporting young people to
matches, fund raising and providing club adminlstration. We acknowledge support from the groups
involved in the Falls Partnership Initiative in this regard.
