Trojans YCG 2022 Annual General Meeting Minutes

I. Introduction

Annual General Meeting opened by Chairperson Joseph Doherty who thanked all members for their attendance. Joe outlined the agenda for the evening’s Annual General Meeting.

Joe progressed with the Annual General Meeting by reiterating the club’s Mission and Vision to those in attendance.

II. Overview of Previous 12 Months

a. On the Field Successes & Achievements

Joe highlighted the significance of the previous 12 months and mentioned the successes of on the field of both youth and senior groups within the club.

b. Off the Field Successes & Achievements

Joe made note of club-wide successes and achievements off of the field of play – fundraising events, older people’s club, Irish Dancing group, etc. Joe also commented on the Coronavirus Pandemic and highlighted the importance of getting back to terms with our way of life, encouraging all club members to take an open and engaging approach to our return to activities.

III. Club Development

Secretary Diolain Ward led a PowerPoint presentation on the development of where the club is currently at and what it hopes to achieve over the next 12 months. Diolain highlighted previous targets which were set out by the Management Committee at the beginning of 2021 and indicated which of these targets were met and which were not met. Diolain indicated that some targets from last year will be carried over to 2022.

Diolain went on to inform the General Members of community interactions the club is getting involved in and a total of six aims which the club hope to achieve in the next 12 months: a) one large scale fundraising event, b) prepare a trip away for several teams, c) coordinate football operations better; improve across the board, d) develop Oakland Park in liaison with DCSDC, e) host successful Tournaments (Burkey Cup; Gerry McAuley)

IV. Treasurer Report

Treasurer Clare Wright outlined the club’s financial situation, elaborating on expenses throughout the year and covered which fundraising events supported in paying for expenses within the club.

Clare expressed her wishes for the current members of the Fundraising Committee to remain onboard and develop a strategy for the coming year to raise funds necessary for the club. To conclude, Clare thanked all those who contributed to 2021’s fundraising activities which aided to covering the basis of expenses. Clare returned the podium to Joe Doherty.

V. Election of Officers

The Election of Officers was introduced by Joe. Joe Doherty voluntarily stood down from his position, as did the Management Committee of 2021. Joe invited Clare Wright to the podium to lead the election of officers for the Management Committee of 2022.

Clare paid thanks to outgoing Chairperson Joe Doherty for his efforts on leading the club throughout a difficult 2021. She paid further thanks to all members of the Management Committee who sat on the board for the year 2021.

Listed below is the outcome of the Election of Officers for 2022. To note, there was no objections to any positions:

Clare paid thanks to outgoing Management Committee members and incoming members. He stood down from the podium to return it to Chairperson Joe Doherty.

Newly elected Chairperson Paddy McLaren thanked Clare for residing over the Election of Officers. Paddy then paid thanks to outgoing committee members and all coaching staff for their efforts throughout 2021. He mentioned that in 2022, under his leadership, the club will attempt to live up to its reputation for development – trying to establish a structure which will secure the club for the future.

VI. Any Other Business (AOB)

Raymond Carton updated members on the hopeful Thomas Burke memorial tournament that is scheduled to take place in Summer 2022. Raymond asked all members to be mindful of a proposed date and asked for their attendance to support the family of the late Trojans player Thomas Burke.

VII. Conclusion

The 2022 Annual General Meeting was concluded by Chairperson Paddy McLaren. Paddy thanked those in attendance for their commitment to the club and its development. The meeting was then called to a close.
