A summary of the charity’s: main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit 

The Charitable purposes of the charity: The advancement of arts, culture, heritage or science. 

The advancement of education 

The advancement of citizenship or community development. 

To further these purposes for the public benefit, we carried out the following activities: 

- Annual art as therapy summer school. Presentations and workshops provided by creative art therapists. 

- Three Day meetings a year, providing a presentation and facilitating reflecting artmaking. 

- AGM where our membership and members of the public can network, join the committee or discuss recent developments in art and therapy world. 

- NIGAT reading room is made available for members, counsellors, art therapists and students. Books are available to browse on a non-lending basis. 

There are no private benefits incurred from our activities. Main achievements in the year: 

- Maintained consistent membership numbers throughout the year; 

- Generated £1.5k of donations; 

- Ran 3 successful **Day Meetings** : 

   - Feb 3, De La Salle Pastoral Centre – Clay Field Experiential with Brian Wallace; hands-on clay therapy and creative art-making. 

   - June 1, Belfast – Art in Criminal Justice with Prison Arts Foundation; included presentations, exhibitions, and personal stories. 



   - Oct 5, Fitzroy Church Halls – Wellness in Rhythm with Aiden Dunphy; therapeutic drumming and reflective art-making. 

- Ran a successful 31st **Annual Summer School** (August 2-4[th] ) at De la Salle Pastoral Centre: 

   - **Theme** : _Synchronicity_ 

   - **Keynote** : Dr Caryl Sibbett on archetypes in Art Therapy. 

   - **Presentations** : Caryl Sibbett, Frank Holmes, Leora Sotto. 

- **Workshops** : 

   - _Trials of Treasure_ – Jayne McConkey 

   - _The Art of Ritual_ – Rachel Johnson 

   - _Where Moments Meet Magic_ – Biggi Hoffman 

   - _Creative Flow_ – Lizzie Devlin 

- **Sunday Session** : Interactive poetry and writing with Jenny Cleland 

The trustees have read the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. 

In the financial year 2023 to 2024, the Charity had an income of £5,919 and an expenditure of £6,477 resulting in a net deficit of £559. 

The Charity does not have a reserves policy.
