Objectives and activities
Summary of the purposes of the
charity as set out in its
governing document
The Association was established for charitable objects and
purposes only. In particular the Association was established to
promote the benefits of the inhabitants of Ballymaguigan without
distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion
by association with statutory bodies, voluntary organisation,
institutions, business and inhabitants in a common effort to
alleviate poverty and disadvantage, advance education, promote
social inclusion and to
provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for health.
recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of
improving conditions of life for the inhabitants., and to promote all
or any objects for the benefits of the community which now or
hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable.

The Association had been dormant for several years before
electing a new committee in January 2020.
Since then, the Association has focused its activity on the
management and maintenance of the Moyola Riverside Walk
which has proved to be highly valuable to the local Gommunity
during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, providing a place for
people of all ages to exercise and interact safely.

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to
have regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public
benefit.
Financial review
Review of the charity's financial
position at the end of the period
During the year the Group successfully secured £7,613.00 from the
National Lottery Awards for All. The Charity used this funding as
follows..
to completely replace Fishing Platform No 1 (closest to the
entrance to the riverside path) at a cost of £5,838.80.,
to repair Platform 3 (closest to the Bar Mouth) at a cost of
£518.81.,
to supply and install a second bench (costing £564.00),
and to conduct further maintenance and repairs to the path
itself, including materials (costing £588.00)
The Group was also awarded £960 from MUDC towards running
costs and further equipment for 2022123. This was re-profiled
towards the cost of
urchasin
and installin
a bin which was

installed in January 2023 (cost £618) and which Mid Ulster District
Council has agreed to empty
The remainder of the award was used to fund bank charges and
the cost of purchasing a small printerlscanner to help manage grant
applications and submissions.
At 31 March 2023 the Association currently has a small cash
reserve and no debt.
