Independent Examiner's Report to the Executive Committee of the Friends of Music in the Education Authority {North East Region) 1.1 report on the accounts of the Friends for the year ended 31st March 2023; a copy of the Financial Statement is attached. 2. As the Friends Executive Committee you are responsible for the preparation of the accounls in accordance with the Charitles Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 (hereinafter referred to as Ihe Charities Aci). 3. 11 Is my responsibllity to: 1) examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act; 2) follow the proGedures lald down in the general dlrections given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9) (b) of the Charities Act; and 3) slate whelher particular matters have come lo my attention. 4.1 have examined Ihe charrty accoun18 as required under section 65 of the Charitles Act and my examination has been carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65{9)(b} to the Charities Act. 5. My examlnatlon included a revlew of the accountlng records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. There were no unusual items or disclosures in the accounts requiring clarification by the Executive Committee. 6. During my examination nothing has come to my attention which cause8 me to believe that: 1) Accounting records have not been kept in accordance with section 63 of tha Charities Act; 2) The accounts do nol accord with those accounting records; 3) The accounts do not comply wllh the accountlng requlremenls of the Charities Act; 4) Further information is needad for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached; and 5) Any payments made are not In compliance with the constilution of the Charty. Independent Examiner8 Ststement 7.1 have completed my 8xamination and have no concerns In respect of the matters listed at paragraph 6 (1 } - (5) atK>ve and in connection with following the Directions of Ihe Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.
