1. The aims Ot the Friends of Music in the Education Authority (North East Region) {hereinafter
referred lo as the Friends} remains unchanged and continues to be:
To advance and develop the art and science of music and musical education,
wlth partlcular reference to orchestral music, in the Education Authorily
(North Eastorn Region) by providing services not normally covered or
subsidised by the Department of Education or Education Authority grants.
Organlsatlon
2. The Executive Committee (EC) of the Friends Is elected at the Annual General meeting and is
the body responslble lor the day-to-day management of the organisation. Decisions taken by the
EC must conform to Ihe objectives of the Friends set out in the constitution and are also taken
having regard to the Charity Commisslon for Northern Ireland Public Benefit Requirement
Statutory guidance.
3. The members of the EC during the 2022123 year were:

The Executlve Committee met on 2 occaslons during the year.
4. The regislered address of the Frlends is 82, Ballylagan Road, Ballyclare B T39 9QR.
Activities during the year
5. As schools had reopened after the pandemic the Executive Committee agreed a circular should
be issued to schools advising that the Friends were willing to provide financial assistance to
suitable musical projects and applications for assistance should be sent to the Secretary for
consideration y the Executive Committee. 29 applications were received: of these 16 were
accepled, 9 rejected, 3 withdrawn and 1 was outstandin9 at the end ol the year due to the school
not supplying clarfying information when requested.

Finance/Liabilities
6. The 2022123 financial account shows the Friends to be in a sound financial position with a
credit balance of £26,881.04.
7. Al the end of the year the Friends had OLrtslanding liabilities of £6094.14.
