Structure, Governance and Management
Killicomaine Evangelical Church-is constituted by a Trust Deed dated 21 June 2015 as an unincorporated association and is an independent fellowship having no affiliations with any other church or association. It is governed by its Constitution which was formally adopted on 21 June 2015.
Killicomaine Evangelical Church is registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, charity number 103625.
Management
The elders meet regularly to discuss the work of the church, and to make decisions concerning regular activities within the church, and outreach activities. Matters are reported to church members at the Annual Business Meeting when the Annual Report and Accounts are also presented, Matters requiring the approval of the church memibership, other than appointment of elders, are approved on the basis of a simple majority vote. The approval of the membership is sought for all projects entailing major financial outlay.
Volunteers play a key role in the various Departments of the Church. It is not possible to quantify this support as much is done behind the scenes. However, Killicomaine Evangelical Church could not function as it does without their faithful support.
Risk Management
No serious risk incidents took place in 2024-2025 year. The elders consider the risks to which the charity is exposed on an ongoing basis and implement measures to mitigate those risks. A robust policy for the protection ofvulnerable people is in place and is kept under review. Formal risks management processes introduced in 2018-19 are used to safeguard our members and those who attend our events as well as to strengthen the charity’s resilience against damage, in particular in the areas around finance, data protection, fire, health and safety and assets.

Trustees Annual Report for the year ending 5th April 2025.
The Trustees present their Annual Report of the charity for the year ending 5th April 2025. Purpose.
The principal objective of Killicomaine Evangelical Church is to advance the Christian Faith in accordance with its Statement of Belief among people of all backgrounds. Achievements and Performance.
The Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on provision of public benefit and are confident that the Church has fully satisfied this requirement through its activities throughout the year from 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025.
The Church continued to provide opportunities for people to meet to worship God and learn about the Christian Faith by conducting morning and evening services every Sunday with attendances of approximately 70 to 80 in the morning and 30 to 40 in the evening. A weekly Bible Study and Prayer meeting was also held on a Thursday evening from September through June, which is open to all. A Woman's Bible Study is held monthly which continues to be a source of teaching, support and fellowship for all in attendance. Sunday services continue to be available on Zoom, which is beneficial to those who are not able to attend in person.
Activities aimed at teaching young people about the Christian Faith continue to take place throughout the year. These include a Sunday School, a Bible Class (held on Zoom), also a Children's meeting and Youth groups which are held each Friday evening In the Killicomaine Jubilee Community Centre. The average overall attendance for all these activities is between 30 to 40. In July a Holiday Bible Club (HBC) was held for younger children with an average daily attendance of 29. Prior to the HBC a safeguarding refresher course was held for all leaders by the Safeguarding Officer.
The Mid-week Fellowship meets on a Wednesday afternoon. These meetings continue to be a great means of support and help to all who attend, providing worship, bible study and in particular fellowship, for those who for whatever reason find it difficult to attend, or attend regularly, ona Sunday or Thursday evening. The regular number in attendance is between 12 and 16.
There were two individuals, on profession of faith, baptised in May.
The development of the new website was completed and launched in June.
The Church has a full time Pastor, Daniel Gomes, who continues to develop the ministry and outreach of the Church.
The Church supports a missionary in Lima, Peru, also continues to help support two families, one working amongst international refugees in Germany and the other providing support services with a missionary society, Ethnos 360, in Florida USA. Support is given to other Churches engaged in advancing the Christian faith overseas, in Markayankottai, India and Batticaloa and Killinochi, Sri Lanka.
Pastoral support, including home visitation, is provided by the Church and, where necessary, counselling for members, those who regularly attend and any others who may request it.
The Church contributes to the life of the wider community through involvement with the Killicomaine Residents Group and in partnership with them supports the Annual Fun Day in July, for which the church premises are made available. This has become an established community festival which continues*to be very well attended. A Carol Service was held during December in the Church Building. In collaboration with another local church, we are involved in the running of a Men's Club, which meets each Friday morning and provides social interaction for the men of the local community. The club continues to attract new members, attendance continues to be consistent and the activities and fellowship have been a great means of support and encouragement to all.
All of the Church's activities are published on the Killicomaine Evangelical Church website, www.killicomaine.org

Financial Review
The Church is funded by voluntary gifts and donations received from those attending the Church. Maximum use is made of the Gift Aid Scheme. No wider public appeal was made for funds during the year. The total income for the financial year 2024-2025 was £70,738. Expenditure for the year was £75,773 resulting in a deficit for the year of £5,035. At the end of the year a balance of £26,931 was held in our current account and a balance of £13,843 in our building fund account. Details of income and expenditure are available in our published accounts for the year.
The Church had no liabilities.
The Church uses restricted and unrestricted funds in its accounting policies. Restricted funds are used for money donated to the Church for specific purposes such as overseas missions and building funds. Unrestricted funds from general offerings are used for all other purposes. Any shortfalls in restricted funds are covered by a transfer from the unrestricted fund. No restricted fund was in deficit at the year end.
Reserves Policy
A policy on reserves has been considered and agreed by the elders. The income of the church is stable and the risks associated with any significant reduction of income are regarded as unlikely. In the event ofan unexpected financial need the elders are confident that members would respond accordingly. The elders are satisfied that a figure equating to approximately two months’ expenditure is an appropriate level for reserve balances at the present time.
The.cash balance at year end comfortably exceeded the level of reserve required.
Funds Held as Custodian Trustee on Behalf of Others
Killicomaine.Evangelical Church does not hold any funds as custodian trustee on behalf of others.
