Trustees Annual Report for the year endlng 5th April 2024.
The Trustees present their Annual Report of the charity for the year ending 5th April 2024.
Purpos&
The principal objective of Killicomaine Evangelical ChU￿h is to advance the Christian Faith in
accordance with its Statement of Belief among people of all backgrounds.
Achievements and Performance.
The Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on
provision of public benefit and are confident that the Church has ￿llY satisfied this requirement
through its activities throughout the year from 6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024.
The Church continued to provide opportunities for people to meet to worship God and learn about
the Christian Faith by conducting morning and evening services every Sunday with attendances of
approximately 80 to 90 in the morning and 40 to 55 in the evening. A weekly Bible Study and
Prayer meeting was also held on a Thursday evening from September through June, which is open
to all. A Woman's Bible Study is held monthly with an average attendance of l O. Sunday services
continue to be available on Zoom, which is beneficial to those who are not able to attend in person.
Activities aimed at t￿hIng young people about the Christian Faith continue to take place
throughout the year. These include a Sunday School and Bible Cjasses with pupils enrolled,
Children's and Youth M￿ting held each Friday evening with between 27 and 35 attending. In July
a Holiday Bible Club was held for younger children with an avernge daily attendance of 30.
The Mid-week Fellowship meets on a Wednesday afternoon. These meetings continue to be a great
means of support and help to all who attend, providing worship, bible study and in particular
fellowship, for those who for whatever reason find it difficult to attend. or attend Tegularjy, on a
Sunday or Thuysday evening. The attendance is between 12 and 18.
The Chuwh contributes to th¢ life of the wider community through involvement with the
Killicomaine Residents Group and in partnership with them, supports various community events.
The major events were the Annual Fun Day in July. for which the chuwh premises were made
available, and a community Carol Service in D￿eMber, both of which were well attended. In
collaboration with another local church, we are involved in the running of a M¢n's Club, which
meets each Friday morning and provides social internGtion for the men of the local community. The
membership has grown steadily. been very coDsistent in attendance and the activities and fellowsbip
has be¢n a great means of support and encouragement to all.
Pastoral suppo¢ including home visitation, is provided by the Church and. where necessaryi
counselling for members, those who regularly attend and any others who may request it.
The previous fvll-time Pastor had retired in September 2022 and a new on& Daniel Gomes. was
appointed in February 2024.
The Church supports a full time missionary in Lirn￿ Peru and continues to give support to other
Churches engaged in furthering its purposes overseas, in , Tamil Nadw India and Batticaloa and
Killino¢hi, Sri Lank& We also continue to partly support two families, one working amongst
international refugees in Gennany and one providing support services with a missionary society,
Ethnos 360 in Florida USA.
There were no reportable incidents regarding health and safety. data protection or child protection.

The Church is funded by voluntary gifts and donations received from those attending the Church.
Maximum use is made of the Gift Aid Scheme. No wider public appeal was made for funds during th¢
year. The total income for the financial year 2023-2024 was £64,463. Expenditure for the year was
£42,617 resulting in a deficit for the year of £21,846, At the end of the year a balance of £31,964 was
held in our current account and a balance of £13,845 in our building fund account. Details of income
and expenditure are available in our published accounts for the year.
The Church had no liabilities.
The Church uses restricted and unrestricted funds in its accounting policies. Restricted funds are used
for money donated to the Church for specific purposes such as overseas missions and building funds.
Unrestricted funds from general offerings are used for all other purposes. Any shortfalls in restricted
funds are covcred by a transfer from the unrestricted fund. No restricted fund was in deficit at th¢ year
end.
Reserves Policy
A policy on reserves has been considered and agreed by the elders. The income of the church is stable
and the risks associated with any significant reduction of income are regarded as unlikely. In the event
of an unexpected financial need the elders are confident that members would respond accordingly. The
elders are satisfied that a figure equating to approximately two months, expenditure is an appropriate
level for reserv¢ balances at the present time.
The cash balance at year end comfortably exceeded the level of reserve required.
Funds Held as Custodian Trustee on Behalf of Others
Killicomaine Evangelical Church does not hold any funds as Custodian trustee on behalf of others.
