– Charity Purpose

Promote interest in short mat bowls within the Ballinteer area. The direct benefits which flow from this will increase an understanding of the rules and regulations surrounding short mat bowls. These benefits will be demonstrated through feed-back received club members and the general public attending matches. There is no harm from this purpose. The only beneficiaries will be the players and the general public.

Preserve the existence of short mat bowls in the area and develop the skills of both young and old, and encourage its enjoyment among clubs within our leagues. These benefits will be seen through developing young players, and from comments received via senior players in the club. There is no harm from this purpose. Those benefitting will be the general public and our club members attending matches. Our members will continue to develop their bowling skills. Private benefit may arise from the purpose as members improve their ability.

Encourage persons of all ages to develop their bowling skills and talents. The benefits from the purpose will ensure Ballinteer Bowling Club maintain a high level of bowling within the leagues that they are accustomed to.

Main Activities
Plays short mat bowls in Coleraine & District League. The matches are arranged weekly with a 2 week break over Christmas. The league is played on a home and away basis between October and March. Within the league we play in 2
charity cups. Voluntary collections are taken up towards the specific charities during the cup matches.
- Achievements
During the October 19 – March 20 season, we failed to achieve any silverware. The league matches were completed but cup games and end of season play offs were cancelled due COVID 19. Some of our members represented the Northern and North West Zones throughout the season.
The Trustees regard the Commissions Public Benefit and Ballinteer Bowling Club is open to all, to improve community development and advance amateur sports. Added benefits help to stay healthy and provide social interaction.

Monies raised is by Annual membership fees
We received a DAERA micro grant of £1035 to buy catering equipment for the hall. Thanks to one member for loan as we had to pay equipment up front.
The accounts are presented annual at the AGM and audited by 2 independent auditors.
