– Charity Purpose
Training in Flute and Drumming musical traditions within Ballinteer and surrounding areas. Encourage persons of all ages and sexes to develop their instrumental skills and talents and provide tuition in the instruments and in the relation skills and competencies. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 include increased understanding and
awareness of the musical tradition. These benefits will be demonstrated through feed-back received from our members and the general public who attend our events. There is no identifiable harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries for this purpose are the general public. No private benefit arises from this purpose.
- Preserve the existing repertoire of Flute & Drumming music and develop the skills through the production of new work and encourage its continued enjoyment and acceptance within the whole population of Northern Ireland. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 2 include increased understanding and awareness of the musical tradition within the public and a continued development of the musical skills. These benefits will be demonstrated through feed-back received from our members and the general public who attend our events. There is no identifiable harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries for this purpose are the general public and our members who will continue to develop their musical skills. Private benefit may arise from this purpose to our members who will receive the necessary training to allow them to achieve this purpose, this benefit is incidental and necessary.

Main Activities
We are a Marching Flute Band based in Ballinteer, outside Coleraine, Co.Londonderry. The Band is constituted and run by a committee. We take part in local parades, Church services, concerts and charity functions. We provide a music services to the local Loyal orders as required. We are made up of boys, girls, young woman and senior men. We have members with child protection training. We provide a controlled safe environment for young members of the rural community to come together and gives them a sense of belonging and provides social interaction across various age groups. Any monies raised are solely for the upkeep of the band, providing instruments and uniforms.
- Achievements
During 2019 we practiced each Monday night from April to September and attended 17 events, starting with our own parade in April. On the 12[th] of July evening we presented trophies to the band and reserve band member of the year. We also presented a clock to another member for 50 years service. For the first time in the bands history, we took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade in Coleraine in November 2019. Sadly activities in March 2020 all stopped due to COVID 19.
The Trustees regard the Commissions Public Benefit and Ballinteer Flute Band is open to all, to improve community development and advance amateur sports. Added benefits help to stay healthy and provide social interaction.

Monies raised is by Collection at our Annual Band Parade and one other funding event.
The accounts are presented annual at the AGM and audited by 2 independent auditors.
