Overthe past twelve month8 the Gateway Club has met in the MethrA1i8t Hall in
Cookstown every fortnight. Paying the Methodist Congregation £30 to covèr all hire
to8t8. including eleclricty and heating.
Every evening ha8 b8en a fun-filled se55ion of varied activits"es, coordinated by the
ever Gon$lÈnt leader, B8rnad8tte O Neill.
Activities have in¢luded a range ofArts and Crafts,
Decoupage,
De¢orating ceramic pots,
Candle making.
Squares are crochet each week and tak8n hom8.
Full Is made of th8 pool and air hothey tables every session.
Once a month a repr￿entatiVe of Mid Ulster Council provides sports and fitness
activitie5, such a5 8oGGe. a combination of ski ball. bob￿S and shuffle board and
other aclivili88 which are suited to our members, especially ourwh881 chair bound
one5.
The rn8mbers enjoy preparing their own tea break and Iigm refreshment5, tidying up
afterwards is v8ry much part of the 5ession$.

Our summer outing was in Portru5h.stopping in th8 Lodge in cderal￿ fortea
scones and tlinner in the Ramada in Portru5h.
The calendar of events for 17118 was discussed at the last meeting of the year and
will be finaliz￿ in September.
Highlights of the year 16117 we￿,
The Glub funded Liam Ryan and Michael Crawford who w8re 8e18Ct&J to play for the
Northern Ireland Pool team In Bridlington on 6th Apri12016.They were accompank•
by Bernadette O'N*ill and Mair8ad Moore.
On 24th June 2017 the Pool te4m look part in the Knockout Pod Blitz in
Carritkfergus, organised by Carrick Gateway Club.
The team enjoyed great success and our thanks go to Bernadette O'Neill for her
constant support of all our merDbet5. aknys giving of her lime and encouraging all of
us involved In Gateway lo get involved 35 tnuch as we can, som* can give more lime
than others t>ut we are a close team and the members have ￿nefited from our team
8emadette h88 invited Oonagh Colern4n la retired lady) to become our
Corre5ponderTrTr SeGretary, to take som8 pressure from her.
From September she will help Bernadette to ¢tsDrdinate fund raising and
correspondence W￿h.
