Objectives and Activities

The main purpose of Culmore and O’Kane Residents Association is to advance community development for residents in the area and to improve education and training, and generally work with community and statutory agencies improve the quality of life for residents.

Achievements and Performance

The year 01/04/2021 to 31/03/2022 was a busy year for the organisation. In the aftermath of Covid 19 the group was resuming normal activities. Various health programmes and interventions were made possible through the Neighbourhood Renewal Health Programme. The Men’s group continued to thrive as well as events to focus on women’s health and wellbeing. Halloween and Christmas community events were well attended and provided a focal point for the community. The group set up a new youth diversionary project on a pilot basis to address issues of anti- social behaviour. New volunteers had also been recruited throughout the year. The group works closely with various Statutory organisations such as the Western Health and Social Care Trust, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and Northern Ireland Housing Executive to lobby and advocate for Culmore and O’Kane Residents.
