Public benefit
In order to continue to ￿lfil the purpose and have regard to the Commission's public benefit requiremen¢ we
have continued to provide weekly church services for fellowship. prayer) Prni5e and Bible teaching as well as
continuing to provide services for specific Community sectors following government guidance.
Christian principles and Christiarn discipleship aIong with the gospel rnessage are shared at these services.
The trustee confinn that they have cornpli¢d with th¢ requirements of the Charities Act to have due regard to the
publtc benefit guidance published by the Chartty Commission for Northern Ireland.

During the year ertd￿ February 2023, to continue to fulfil this purpose and hav¢ regard to the Commission's
public benefit requiremenL w¢ have continued to provide weekly church seryices for fellowship, prayerj praise
and Bible teaching as well as continuing to provide services for specific cornmunity Sectors. Our online presence
ha5 incre￿ed stgnifi¢antly with regular services being shown of Facebook. We had an increase in visiting
prwh¢r5 and sin8er5 to our services.
The purpose of the Lifeboat Mission ￿ntinUe to be met although the method of delivery has evolved depending
on the particular restrictions in place. During the year Sunday services and prayer meetings have continued at
our church premises and we have seen a growth in the fellowship. Our messages are being posted online through
our Facebook page where they can reach a much w2der audience. As the numbers attending services increases
stwlily our message is strong.

Our incorne level for the f]nanciaI year ending 28 February 2023 wa5 almost 124K with expendikn of £88k
leaving a surplus for the year of approxirnately £36K. As Trustees we would like to offer our Sincere thanks for
the genernus giving of our ¢ongregation and supporters.

The trustee (who are aEso the directors of The Lifeboat Mission for the Purposes of company law) 3r¢
responsible for prepartng the tn25tee' report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and
Unifrd Kingdom Accounttng Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). including
FRS 102 "The Financial Rewrting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland"
Company law requires the ttustee to prepare fmancial statements for each fJnanGial year. Under company law
the trustee must not approve the financial statements unless they ar¢ satisfied that they give a trne and fair view
of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources.

comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are ￿80 responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable

I report to the charity trustee on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year ended 28 February
2023.
Rupective responsibilities of trusteey ond examiner
As the cknity's knstee of The Lifeboat Mission (and also its diTethrs for the purposes of company law) you are
responsible for the preparation of the accounts in acwrdance with the requirements of the Ch￿itIeS AGt
(Northem Ireland) 2008.
Having satisfied myself that the aC￿unts of The Lifeboat Mission are not required to be audited under section
65 of Charities Act (Northern) Ireland 2008 and that an independent examination 15 needed. It 15 my

I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examtnation
was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern treland
under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act.

Statement of Recommended Practice (applicable to charities prepartng their accounts in accordance Mryth the
Financial RerK)rting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)) (issued In October 2019)
- (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financia] Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
(FRS 102) and the Companies Act 2006.
Basis of preparation
The Lifeboat Mission meets the defmition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are
initially recognised at historical Gost or trdnsactton value unless otherwise stated in Ihe relevant accounting
policy notes.
Golng concern
The trnstee ￿nsider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's abilty to continue as a going
concern nor any significant areas of uncertainty that affect the carrying value of assets held by the Gharity.
Exemptlon from preparittE a casb flow ststement
The charity opted to early adopt Bulletin I published on 2 February 2016 and have therefore not included a cash
flow statement in these financial statements.

Donadons and legac
DonatioD5 are recognised when the charity ha5 been notified in writing of both the amount and settlement date.
In the event thal a donation is subje¢t to conditions that require a level of perforn12nce by the charity before the
charity is entitled to the funds. the income is deferred and not recognised until either those conditions aye fully
met, or the fulfilment of those conditions is wholly within the control of the charity and it is probable that these
Conditions will be ￿lfilled in the reporting period.

Dividend5 are recognised once the dividend h85 been de¢lared and notification has been received of the dividend
due.
Expendltllre
All expenditure is r¢cognised onGe there is a legal or constructive obligation to that expenditure, it is probable
settlement is required and the amount can be measured reliably. All costs are allocated to the applicable
expenditure heading that aggregate similar costs to that category. Where costs cannot b¢ directly attiibvted to
particular headings they have been allocated on a basis consistent with the use of resources, with central stsff
¢osts allocated on the basis of time speni and depreci2tion charges allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
Other support ¢0sts are allocated b&sed on the spread of staff costs.
Governance costs
These include th¢ costs attributsble to the Ghajity's compliance with constitutional and sta￿tOry requirements,
including audiL Strategic management and trustee meetillg5 reimbltrscd expenses.
Taution
The charity is considered to pass the tests set out in Paragrnph I S¢h¢dule 6 of the Finance Act 2010 and
therefore il meets the definition of a charitable company for UK corporation tax purp)ses. Accordingly, the
charity is potentially exempt from taxation in respect of income or capital gains r￿e1Ved within categories
covered by Chapter 3 Part I l of the Corporation Tax Act 2010 or Section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeabl¢
Gains Act 1992, to the extent that such income or gains are applied exclusively to Gharitable purposes.

Trade creditors
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordillary course of
business from suppliers. Accounts payable are classified as C￿￿ent liabiltties if the charity does not have an
unconditional righL at the end of the reporting period, to defu settlement of the creditor for at le&8t tw¢lve
month5 after the reEKJrting date. If there is an unconditional right to defer settlement for at least twelve months
after the reporting date. they are presented os non￿Urrent liabilities.
Trade creditors are recognised initially at the transaction price and subsequendy m￿sured at amortised cost
using the effective interest method.
Borrowings
Interest-bearing borrowryngs are initially recorded at fair value. net of transaction costs. Interest-bearing
borrowings are subsequently carried at amortised cosL with the difference between the proceeds, net of
transaction costs, and the amount due on redemption being recognised as a charge to the Ststement of Financial
Acttvities over the period of the relevant borrowing.
Interest expense is recognised on the basis of the effective interest method and is included in interest payable
and similar charges.

the liability for at least twelve months after the reporting date.
